Melody Pond predominantly plays as an acoustic duo (playing acoustic instruments, while providing our own PA). We also hire amazing backup musicians, and can play as a trio (adding upright bass) or as a full band, adding on players as needed to suit the event. We play mostly original music, but can learn covers of our host's choosing.
The duo has been singing together for almost a decade perfecting their tight, seamless harmonies. Their sound ranges from fun and powerful to honest and tender. Rooted in the earthiness of folk, these genre bending ladies take the sound of their native Ozark Mountains, and infuse it with modern indie influences, and throwback moods of jazz and blues.

Melody Pond is the duo made up of Candy Lee and Emily Rowland, who have a been singing together for almost a decade, perfecting their tight, seamless harmonies. Their sound ranges from fun and powerful to honest and tender. Rooted in the earthiness of folk, these genre bending ladies take the sound of their native Ozark Mountains, and infuse it with modern indie influences, and throwback moods of jazz and blues. Melody Pond has been compared to modern artists The Shook Twins, First Aid Kit, and The Ditty Bops, and traditional artists such as the The Andrews Sisters.
Candy Lee is the 2011 Northwest Arkansas Music Award Winner for Best Female Singer/Songwriter and Best Female Vocalist in a Band. She was also a Grassy Hill New Folk Finalist at the 2015 Kerrville Folk Festival. Melody Pond (formerly Candy Lee and the Sweets) have performed at the Yonder Mountain Harvest Festival, as well as the Fayetteville Roots Festival, and a sold out show at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. They have opened for Elephant Revival, Ben Miller Band, Amy Lavere, and The Lost Gonzo Band.
We do need to plug in for people to be able to hear us. We can provide our own PA and sound as long as we have an electrical outlet and a little bit of space. We're very low maintenance.
We mostly play originals that you're not familiar with! But, we can learn covers for specific events.
The Andrews Sisters, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Fiest, Fiona Apple, Dolly Parton Trio, First Aid Kit, Wood Brothers, Devil Makes Three
We can provide our own PA. If PA is provided by host, we'll need: 2 DI's, 2 vocal mics, and one extra XLR. That is for the duo. Input list will change if we hire more players.
