I play alto, tenor and soprano sax in all styles from jazz to classical. I play solo or with group for events, weddings or just a cocktail hour. I can provide references and have a degree in music performance from Duquesne University. I currently gig and teach woodwinds and piano in the Palm Beach area. I had a small backyard dinner party and hired Mervyn Johnston to play the saxophone. He was absolutely fabulous. He played music of my generation and all of my friends commented on how wonderful he was. I loved the fact that he did not play too loud that we could not carry on conversations, but just loud enough that we enjoyed the music. We will definitely hire him again for our next occasion.

I had a cocktail holiday party for 40 people at my house. I didn't know if having a saxophonist would work. It was the best thing about the party. Mervyn played his sax on my balcony while the guests listened and mingled inside. He was such a pleasure. His music was wonderful. I will hire him annually for my party. I am a saxophone player. Available for solo with backing music in any style to fit the occasion. As well as playing all saxophones, I come with all equipment, P.A. etc.
I can play selections from the client or put together a set list myself. Whilst playing around the U.S. styles have included big band, orchestra pit to solo on South Beach. I have a degree in saxophone performance in classical and jazz. played in classic rock, Motown, reggae and dance bands. Previously I organized The Bar Harbor Jazz Festival and ran my own groups. I have played solo wedding, both traditional and contemporary. Currently I play solo jazz sax three times a week as well as with my jazz quartet, Remedy among others.
