Formed in 1994, Metropolitan Klezmer, based in NYC, tours Vermont to Florida and beyond for concerts, celebrations & festivals. Our work has been seen & heard on HBO, CNN, and PRI, and in addition to being named "one of the finest American klezmer bands" (Songlines Magazine, UK) we also play styles from Albanian to Zydeco. For many private clients, we perform memorable jazz, swing, Latin, R&B, and classical in addition to a spectrum of klezmer & other Jewish/Eastern European music. Award-winning CDs & videos available. Full octet (or more) down to soloists as suit the occasion & budget: clarinet/sax, trumpet/flugelhorn, trombone, accordion, violin/flutes, bass/tuba, drums, & gorgeous vocals.

I negotiated with band leader Eve, and had three other musicians at the wedding itself (viola, clarinet, and accordion).
Eve was willing to work with some of our unorthodox requests and was a fair negotiator.
The musicians delivered on all her promises and more! They made our cocktail hour and ceremony so beautiful and happy, really reading and understanding our crowd.
They trio I ended up hiring was perfect for my event. They were professional and timely and the music was lovely and lively. They listened to exactly what was asked and delivered (they knew their cue and their celebratory music helped us transition from one event moment to another). My guests felt comfortable dancing and listening equally. Solid experience from start to finish. Good musicians!
Very easy and professional to deal with. Sensible prices. Played for 1hr for a birthday party.
Arrived on time. Played excellent klezmer and some tango and jewish swing. Much better live than their recordings that are very nice. Highly recommended without reservation.
