I perform weddings/receptions, corporate events, proposals, cafes/restaurants and similar scenarios. I hold both a bachelors and masters degree in classical guitar.
What I play:
- Both current and classic styles of pop music (requests taken with enough notice)
- Classical, Spanish, and Jazz
- Or whatever is needed from me for the occasion (I'm adaptable!)
- I perform either solo or with backing tracks.

Michael played for our wedding and we so enjoyed his beautiful music!! He was so great to work with and even learned some songs we were hoping for just for the occasion. I needed a classical guitarist with virtually zero notice, which was due to my poor planning. Michael saw my request and was able to cheerfully oblige. He was prompt, very polite, and easy going. Michael played beautifully for my wedding and was able to take a couple of requests. I would definitely recommend him for those interested.
Michael played my wedding yesterday and did an awesome job. He nailed songs that he had little time to prepare for; I failed to give him a complete list in time, and he still met our request needs. He is extremely polite and prompt. We will hire him again in the future.
Hired him for a corporate event in another state from where I am, as soon as the event was over I got feedback and they said he was great. It was easy to communicate with him prior to the event as well. Can't wait to hire him again!!!

Classical guitar is perfect for events such as weddings, corporate events, proposals, restaurants, and more! I offer a wide variety of music genres such as romantic, classical, jazz, spanish, contemporary, and pop!
I also offer duo performances with a female vocalist if you would like that setup better. We perform for the same type of events mentioned above.
Michael began his classical guitar studies at the University of Texas at Brownsville under the direction of Dr. Michael Quantz. Privately, he has studied with Mr. Jose Luis Escobedo, Dr. Jonathan Dotson, and, Dr. Matthew Dunne. Michael has also participated in numerous masterclasses with world renown artists such as the Grammy-winning Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, Latin Grammy nominee Berta Rojas, Guitar Foundation of America winner Johannes Möller, and Russian guitarist Dimitri Illarionov. In 2012, Michael placed 1st in the University of Texas Pan Am Solo Guitar Competition and has been a finalist and semi-finalist in many others. Since then, he has continued to compete and perform on the professional level and most recently, finished a Masters Degree in Guitar Performance from the University of Texas San Antonio, December 2016. Aside from his classical studies, Michael has experience playing in various rock and metal bands and composes his own songs which have been professionally recorded and released.
A good playing area would be one that is near outlets, has good lighting (for reading music), and is not windy (for outdoor gigs).
