As a solo artist, I provide an entertaining mix of originals and cover songs of virtually all styles of music. I accompany my voice with guitar or piano, utilizing a Loop Station from time to time so I may layer guitar parts, or play clarinet and/or saxophone over a sample of my own live recording(s).
Further, I offer private lessons in voice, clarinet, guitar, piano, saxophone, bass, songwriting and general music theory. (I also am qualified to give academic tutoring).
There is no question the Michael's beautiful music added to the warmth and joy of our celebration. His varied musical selections were perfect and definitely in keeping with the types of music we had discussed prior to our event. He kept his volume well-modulated and provided the perfect "dinner music" throughout the evening. We look forward to the next occasion to work with Michael again.
Like the guy, he knows what he is doing is engages my son.
Michael was perfect for my wedding. He was very professional and sweet. I was so nervous on my wedding day that I wasn't sure what music I wanted. Fortunately, Michael just took the lead and played lovely music. I would recommend him to anyone for their wedding or other event type. The day was so busy, I just wish I had the opportunity to tell him how thankful I was.
Michael was a pleasure to work with. He was very concerned about our day, making it special and happy for the both of us. He was very flexible and excited to be apart of our wedding. His personality was very welcoming and im glad we chose him to be a part of our special day.
Our 14-year-old son started guitar lessons with Mike about four years ago. Since then he has had lessons on sax, bass, mandolin, keyboard, oboe and more guitar, all from Mike. Aside from the obvious: Mike plays all these well enough to teach, I have been impressed because Mike taught the "why" of guitar as well as the "how" so out son is able to play chords well on a piano with only a few lessons.
I only wish I had had a music teacher like Mike when I was a kid. He really brings out the fun in music at the same time he teaches essential skills and helps young people develop their musical knowledge and instincts.
We thought he was great. He came prepared to play all of the songs we requested prior to the event and that night if we had a request he didn't know, we pulled the lyrics/chords up on an iPhone and he played it instantly. He created a great atmosphere and we are already thinking of an excuse to have another party to invite him back.
Response from Michael Lipson:
Believe me, I had a great time, too! Everyone was truly in happy spirits, and I feel it was a privilege to share in that spectacular energy! (Much thanks to everyone that sang, danced, and shook the tambourine!!!)
I learned some great tunes for the party which will stick with me always (wit' a bit-o'-fortune!).
I owe y'all "Chicken Fried."

Our 15 year old son took some guitar lessons from Michael and our 14 year old daughter has been taking saxophone lessons from Michael for several years. He gets along well with young people and is very willing to work with individual students on mastering music that fits with the students interests and helps them move along musically on their instrument. We have also seen him perform and are amazed by his talent with multiple instruments. We highly recommend him for both music lessons and performances!
Michael was wonderful! He performed virtually for 5 hours straight and his performance was enjoyed by all my guests. He played requests and had a prepared repetoire that was a crowd pleaser. I had great feedback from my family and friends about Michael and would not hestitate to hire him for other parties.
Response from Michael Lipson:
Lora, you hosted an incredible event! I felt honored to be a part of it. The enthusiasm of you and all your guests made the experience even more enjoyable for me. I love to have (so many) folks singin' along! Special thanks to the REAL little drummer boy!!!
P. S. I certainly owe you some Cole Porter!!

Mike was an amazing instructor & friend. I went to him for guitar and voice lessons. Aside from the technical stuff, he helped me get over my stage fright. I highly recommend him.
Mike did a perfect job. He was on-time, played the music we requested, and was reasonably priced. Our guests were pleased.
Response from Michael Lipson:
I truly enjoyed the festive atmosphere you created for the party. It was great to have everyone so receptive to the music!!
The memories of your parents that were shared aloud allowed me to be privy to some very loving family and friends. I was proud to play "Desperado" for your father.

My daughter took clarinet lessons from Mike. He is very professional and experienced. She learned alot from Mike and I would highly recommend him as a teacher.
As a beginning guiatarist, I learned a great deal from Michael in just a short period of time.
Response from Michael Lipson:
Paul, it was truly great to share your passion for learning brilliant songs, especially by the likes of the Stones. Not only were you a great student, it was a blessing to know you as a friend. Rock on and on, brother, for sure!

Michael is my son's bass teacher. My son has been taking private lessons from Mike for 2 years and has learned a great deal. Mike makes music lessons fun and educational. He is knowledgeable in all areas of music and very talented.
Response from Michael Lipson:
I truly can't begin to express the way I feel about how he has progressed in such a short time. His bass skills are impressive for his age. Further, he has an unparalleled zeal for learning more and more about music and the instrument in question. It's such a pleasure to know that he is now getting into more symphonic works with the double bass (upright). He is blossoming into a rather versatile and quite talented young musician, and I, as his music teacher couldn't be happier.
I do anticipate seeing (and, of course, hearing) where his musical journey takes him.

I have taken lessons from Michael in the past. He is reasonably priced, patient and inspiring. He was willing to teach you any song. This is nice because you are not forced to learn songsor genres that are not of interest.
Response from Michael Lipson:
Thank you, Jill! You were a memorable student (I sure hope you still play!!). Cat Stevens' "Father and Son" was great to get down and play.
Til next time, I will listen for the Jeep Honk!

Mike has been teaching my son (age 13) guitar for over 3 years now. He is absolutely great with kids! Mike is very encouraging, professional, flexible and reasonably priced. I am very happy with the services he has provided as a teacher! He brings out the best in his students!
Response from Michael Lipson:
Thank you, Linda!! Watching the positive changes in him over the years through music and the guitar has truly been remarkable. Where first he may have been unsure, now it is apparent that he retains his focus, is motivated to learn, and determined to rock (and, if I can help it, some other fine types of music, too!)! I look forward to experiencing further progress as his music star shines brighter.

Michael did a great job entertaining our guests, he was well worth the money and over exceeded our expetactions. We were really impressed with the amount of and material Micheal had, he played several instruments and sang for 6 hours. I would highly reccomend Michael.
Response from Michael Lipson:
Kelly, you hosted a great birthday party for your husband. I certainly was delighted to provide a musical atmosphere. Both you and he, as well as all your friends were an absolute delight to entertain...and hang with afterwards! I sooooooooo appreciate the extra bonus of food and drink (and all those leftovers). I had a wonderful time and, of course, I am overjoyed to know you and your guests did, as well.
