This is the second time I have hired Mike Heuer. He shows up on time, self sufficient, friendly, and an amazing artist.
The first time he came to my home he performed for over 4 hours. Large summer party outdoors. About 50 - 70 people. The volume was perfect for dining, then picked up for dancing afterward.
The second event was for a small dinner party, 8 people plus chef, server and bartender. Mike provided the perfect music at a safe Covid distance for everyone’s comfort and enjoyment.

Mike went out of his way to make our proposal so special during the coldest day on record. He is so talented and I could not recommend him enough!

Mike just played for an outdoor wedding for my sister. His equipment is wonderful (sometimes speakers, mics, etc. just don't do what they should outside. But that was not the case here!). He learned new songs for the bride and groom with zero issue. He also allowed a soloist and allowed them to chose the key for the piece. Again VERY accommodating of all of the wedding parties requests. We were able to communicate with him very easily. Would 100% recommend and rehire

Mike is a very talented singer and musician. My wife and I were lucky enough to find Mike to play for our wedding. Mike not only supplied the best guitar, vocals, and DJ for our ceremony and reception, but was extremely flexible with our ever changing timeline. He happily agreed to play at both ceremony and reception locations (30 minutes apart from each other) and did all coordination needed to ensure he was ready. He was, by far, the easiest vendor at our wedding and genuinely wanted the best for our day. I truly could not have picked a better person to play or DJ for our wedding.

We hired Mike for a neighborhood party as we have them 4-6 times per year and hire a musician about 2-3 times. We have hired several different entertainers over the past 5 years and definitely hire some of the same people over and over because we all like them so much. Mike is definitely one of those performers for our group. He is extremely professional and gets right back to you for planning purposes which is a big plus for me! He is punctual and sets up anyplace you want him. His voice is amazing and he can sing anything. He played for 4 hours and took only a few breaks. We will absolutely hire him again - his vibe is very good for a group of people who still want to chat with each other but also sit around and listen to Mike. His original music was excellent also!

Attended a party for my cousin in Virginia in April. I helped her fidn the entertainment for the event and found Mike at this site, he was exactly what we expected and more. Very talented and versatile in his music selection. I personally love his original music and bought CD's for myself, my cousin, the person whom's house we used for the party. Mike played at our house in Annapolis in December. We hosted a party for our son, celebrating his retirement from naval service. I learned that Mike had lived in Germany for 3 years and speaks the language fluently! Which was a welcome opportunity for us as our son spent 14 years of his life living in Vienna, and I myself am Austrian. Mike played for us for about three hours, which really set the mood for our get-together. Although Mike knows over a hundred songs to pick from, I simply asked him to choose songs appropriate for the occasion. He read the atmosphere perfectly. He was accommodating to guests' song requests and at the end of the performance he was very personable with everyone. I would highly recommend you hire Mike for any event before he goes big and becomes a star.

Mike played a full 3-day weekend grand opening for the new 7001 Arlington Apartments in Bethesda. He was awesome! On time, super friendly, excellent guitar player and singer. All the staff here loved the performance. 5 stars all around. Thanks Mike!

We hired Mike for our publishing company's conference reception at the National Press Club in DC. The crowd was mostly journalists and a number of political figures mingling and conversing. Even though the reception was held on the 15th floor, Mike arrived early, loaded his gear through the service elevator, and efficiently set up with plenty of time to spare. I could tell he's done this a few times...

His volume was perfect and catered great to the atmosphere. Not too loud so we couldn't talk, but audible enough to enjoy and add to the event. He was very professional, but also friendly and great to chat with. We will absolutely be hiring him again.

Mike performed at our neighborhood swim club for an end-of-summer happy hour. He was great -- showed up early and was ready to perform when the party started. Sound was awesome -- he played just the right tunes and at a perfect volume so as to provide a festive ambiance without being intrusive. I highly recommend Mike.

We held several parties at our house this summer, and we invited Mike to perform at two of these events. Our friends and family loved his music, and he brought such a relaxing dimension to these casual gatherings.

Mike performed at our ceremony and cocktail hour. He was great to work with; responsive and flexible with the songs we asked him to play. He was also very communicative about feedback about the songs we picked, giving recommendations to best fit the song/mood, and also when the bongo player we booked couldn't make it, he was upfront and filled the spot quickly. We received several compliments from friends how they enjoyed the music and 'laid-back vibe' at the cocktail hour.

Mike and his band played for the Sassafras River Association’s “10th Birthday Bash” last fall. The location was gorgeous - a private home on a cliff overlooking the Sassafras - as the sunset. With storm clouds threatening throughout the evening, the setting was dramatic and memorable. I had never heard Mike play and did not give him a play list. He came so highly recommended by someone I trust, I just asked him to use his instincts and play what he thought the crowd would want to hear. Within minutes of arriving, one couple began dancing! Their dance broke that early event ice and set a charming tone for the evening. For the rest of the evening, the music was perfectly suited to the mood, no small feat given that our crowd of 150 people ranged from early twenties to our oldest guest who was celebrating his 95th birthday! Not only are they great musicians, but they’re also just good guys. Great to work with, flexible and gracious.
