Originally from Boston but now based in Denver, the Milquetoast & Co. knows how to throw earnest and humble wisdom into a pot, and mix it with strains of indie rock, blues, rockabilly and Americana. The band's eclectic sound is brought to life by James McAndrew’s emotive vocals and wry, witty, sometimes wistful storytelling; co-producer Dan Zangari’s bass lines; Kyle Bocchieri’s drum work; Joe Engel’s cello technique and rich tone; Ben Parrish’s guitar style.

• Originally from Boston but now based in Denver, Colorado-based Milquetoast & Co. (MLQ) has accrued 3.63+ Million playlist reach, and 1.8+ Million on-demand career streams across digital platforms and streaming outlets to date.
• Milquetoast & Co.’s sound blends strains of indie rock, blues, rockabilly and Americana. The band’s songs are brought to life by singer-songwriter/founder/guitarist and producer James McAndrew’s emotive vocals and wry, witty, sometimes wistful storytelling; co-producer Dan Zangari’s bass lines; Kyle Bocchieri’s drum work; Joe Engel’s cello technique and rich tone; Ben Parrish’s guitar style; and the talented horn dexterity of Sam Oatts, who also handles the string arrangements for Milquetoast & Co. (and whose trumpet-solo is featured in the theme song of CBS News television’s “CBS Mornings”).
• The quintet will make its debut at the Historic Stanley Hotel when MLQ headlines the Concert Hall at the landmark hotel’s annual Halloween Hoopla a.k.a Masquerade Ball on October 28.
• “Run Rant Rave” Full-length Album Release Party: On November 11th, Milquetoast & Co. will give a sneak preview of its newest full-length album “Run Rant Rave” by playing it live in its entirety along with some extras-all while being hosted by one of MLQ's favorite venues “Dazzle” in Denver.
o The talented Singer/Songwriter Lauren Frihauf will not only open the Dazzle show but she'll also share the stage with MLQ when they perform “Run Rant Rave.”
• “Run Rant Rave” was recorded in California, at Invisible Island Studio with Owner/Engineer Kevin Ratterman (My Morning Jacket, Afghan Whigs, Ray LaMontagne, Flaming Lips). Mastering Engineer Nathan James (Sting, Pitbull, The Fray, Staind) put the touches on the record. MLQ’s bassist Dan Zangari and James McAndrew had eight of the ten songs written in a three/four month span with enough time to demo them prior to going into Invisible Island Studio.
• For ten days at Ratterman’s studio in Alhambra, just northeast of Los Angeles, Milquetoast & Co. recorded 10 songs for “Run Rant Rave.” McAndrew brought in some additional musicians to broaden the musical palette on the record. The singer invited Eric Gorfain and the Section Quartet – a renowned string quartet that has worked with Foo Fighters, Nick Cave and Queens of the Stone Age along with many top artists and producers – who played on half of the tracks on “Run Rant Rave.” Alongside James was co-producer Sam Oatts, was also responsible for both the string and horn arrangements on the record.
• The lead single off “Run Rant Rave,” entitled “Spinning" was made available on 3/23/23. The following singles were released every six-to-eight/ten weeks: “Nights in White Satin” (The Moody Blues), “The Good Line,” and “Tempest.”
o “Our creative process is rigorous but also such a rewarding experience. We write and produce everything we create from start to finish, so everything we share with our audience comes from a place of self-reflection and the overflowing desire to create,” says James McAndrew. “From the original hooks and lyrics to the cover art, we are the primary hand in making the Milquetoast & Co.’s vision come to life. There’s no one else who knows this band better than the people in it, and we never let ourselves become derivative of our influences or past work.”
• MLQ’s cover of Kate Bush’s “Army Dreamers” hit Telluride KOTO-FM’s airwaves this summer and was spun on 10 more radio stations throughout Colorado, while the single “The Good Line” was featured on KBCO-FM's website and Instagram stories.

Denver artists The Burroughs, Sam Oatts, Collur, The Ephinjis, Julian Falco Perron, Musaji, Lauren Frihauf and more have been featured on the podcast.
