Milton's live show consists of an energetic mix of classic country music and some of the new country (as long as it's danceable), plus a few of his popular original tunes. His 5-piece band includes veteran pro musicians. Also, don't be surprised if Milton leaps off stage to join dancers on the floor -- he loves the crowd interaction, and likes to join in the fun when the situation is right for it. It's not uncommon for Milton to spend time after a show posing for photos with fans, signing autographs, and talking about music and his ongoing path toward country stardom.
The Milton Patton Team is adept and experienced in working with event planners and organizers and making sure the live-music portion of the event is not one of their many worries. Always courteous, grateful, organized and professional, Milton's team is a pleasure to work with.
HE STOLE THE HEARTS OF COUNTRY MUSIC FANS ALL OVER THE WORLD
Milton Patton grew up in the Arkansas Delta town of Forrest City, about an hour west of Memphis. It was a hard place for a young black man to carve out anything positive for his life, and Milton faced his share of hardship and challenges. As a kid, the oldest of three siblings, he worked various jobs from washing cars to clearing land for power lines. He grew up on R&B and Gospel music. And there was always the Blues. Old family stories linked his lineage to the legendary Delta bluesman Charlie Patton, who influenced Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker and is known as the "Father of the Delta Blues."
Then Milton discovered country music, with its happy tuneful sound and storytelling lyrics that felt, to him, more uplifting and hopeful — feelings he badly yearned for as a young man in search of a positive path. So he started mimicking the singing styles of classic country artists like Merle Haggard, George Jones and George Strait, and it filled his heart with lightness and freedom.
"Country music saved my life," Milton said. So he's never looked back.
Milton stole the hearts of country music fans everywhere when he sang his way into the final round of NBC's "America's Got Talent" in 2013. Since then, the selfdescribed "Arkansas country boy" has been playing shows, writing songs, and recently self-produced his first independent CD release that includes the popular singles, "Get Us In Trouble," and "The Break Up."
"I had a lot of music industry people coming at me after AGT," Milton said. "But they had their own ideas of what I should sound like. They thought because I'm a black man I should just jump on the latest country music trend. Today's radio seems like it forgot what real country music is. What I like is the classic country sound, just good solid songs and catchy tunes."
Milton's team isn't overly picky or demanding -- we have worked in a wide variety of situations, and we're just pretty easy going and ready to partner up with our hosts in making everything as good as possible.
Naturally we prefer the best production quality (especially sound) that can be provided in a given situation. Upon request we have a basic contract Rider, input list, and stage plot that covers production needs.
We like Five Star hotels!
(But a Hilton Garden Inn is fine.)
We like USDA Prime ribeye!
(But some fried chicken and mashed potatoes will hit the spot... Or sandwiches.)
We like big comfortable green rooms, one for each guy!
(But we can change in the men's room.)
The main thing is, let's see how we can meet your needs, not you meeting ours, so much. We'll all talk. We will listen. And we'll all make this happen in the right way.
Note: This is always changing, updating, improving -- mix of classic and new country
