Mister "D" ( David Simmerly ) is a solo entertainer that provides dance music for all occasions. From Ballroom Dance Music, Classic Rock, Blues, New Country, Old Country, Pop and Southern Rock I can entertain your party all night long. I have been singing and performing across the country for the past 45 years and I know how to get a crowd going. You won't be disappointed.
We love dancing to Mr D's music, or just listening. He can play any style of music. He is playing for our Branson Ballroom Dancers regularly, every 4th Saturday. We also have some country dancers attending. They like his music too. There is just one problem, every song he plays is danceable. We never feel like sitting still!

Mr. D has increased attendance and doubled participation at the Elks Lodge 1042 every time we hire him. He is remarkable - plays to the audience - honors requests - takes few breaks, which are also short. Has good sound and light equipment. We are hiring him every quarter now, with the next date in September! Several of us also travel to Kimberling City, MO Elks Lodge, when he plays the first Saturday to the Month!

Last year my pilot reunion was held in Branson. We contracted with Mister D to perform for our reunion. We had a delightful time with Mister D and his wife Sandy who was open and engaging with us. Mr D was suggested to us by members who have heard him playing at the Kimberling City Elks. We requested ballroom music..waltz, rumba, tango, cha-cha,and foxtrot for our dance. Dave developed three hours of ballroom music for our dance club. There were 42 dancers at our dance, I didn't hear any negative comments about the music Dave played. We had three hours of upbeat dancing music.

Recently we hired Mr. "D" to entertain at my son's high school graduation party. The kids loved the music, the parents loved the music, and before we new it, the grandparents were making requests and dancing to "Under the Boardwalk." Mr. "D" has great interaction with every age and can critique his program to fit any event. He was very professional and had his equipment set up and ready to go early. We hired Mister D for my sons wedding reception on New Years Eve 2011. Our son is a Navy Corpsman stationed in N.C. and he married his best friend who is a Marine, She is stationed in N.C. as well. They wanted to get married in my sons hometown but being so far away they did not have the ability to check out everything before had to make sure it would be just right for that special day and evening. So, they told mom (myself ) what they wanted and we went to work! Mister D and his wife Sandy went so above and beyond making my son and his new bride's day more than special! The music was everything they asked for and then some. He even personalized the song " The Baby" by Blake Shelton to make our Mother son dance more than memorable! From the moment I called Dave he and his wife were more than willing to help! They just took the bull by the horns and ran with it!! Talk about one less stressful thing for the mother of the groom to do!! And it was just an all around PERFECT evening. Now, my son is a pretty stoic kinda guy and a toughy but midway through the evening he came up to his mom and said with tears in his eyes " Thank you mom for making this everything we ever wanted'! I told him he had so many people to thank and Mister D and his wife were one of them! Folks if you want the perfect person for a special event, someone who will go above and beyond your expectations then Mister D is totally your man!! Great Music, Great Talent and just an all round Great person to do business with! I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone!!! If they want dance music, that is what they get. Easy Listening to just sit and relax and visit, that too. You want Ballroom Dance Music to Tango, Cha Cha or Samba to, he can do that also. From ZZ Top, to Frank Sinatra and everything in between, Mister "D" will do his best to entertain you.
But even before the music starts he always makes sure that he is at the venue at least 2 hours before start time. He keeps in close contact with the client to make sure everything is on schedule. He also does his best to make sure there are no surprises before or the day of the event.
Mister “D” is more than just your typical singer / guitar player doing a single these days. He is one of the most versatile singers and entertainer in the Midwest.
Growing up listening to his dad and grandma play guitar, the music bug was put in him at a young age.
He finally talked his dad into taking him to a music store to take drum lessons at 13 years old. As luck would have it though, the music store had just lost its drum instructor. So he took guitar lessons instead. While taking guitar lessons, they found another drum instructor so he was set. He played in a group that the music instructor put together and they took first place in a High School Talent Show, and then got his first drumming job, both at 14 years old. He was playing drums 3 nights a week, at a bowling alley lounge, and then private parties in the St. Louis area. Playing drums for Cal Ivie and the Countrymen was about as country as you could get. Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Dave Dudley, Cal sang them all. Mister “D” loved playing everything, and even started singing back-up. Cal finally gave him some songs to learn to sing on his own. Even with playing and singing all that country music, he still remembers the first cassette tape he ever bought, “Three Dog Night,” hey, he was only 16.
Unfortunately, a motorcycle wreck ended his drumming career at 16. Fortunately he had advanced his guitar playing and bass playing enough to switch instruments. Those early years of country music and 70’s rock set him up for a lifetime playing and singing many genres of music. The experience he got at
that young age, playing with various groups and musicians was invaluable to him as he grew with his music. Once he got out on his own, it didn’t take him long to put together a group of his own. Night Moves was born and the group played the Tri-State area for years.
Today, Mister “D” has struck out, by himself, and is doing a single. Playing his guitar and singing along
with professional backing tracks. He uses a Bose L1 Model ll pa system with the T1 ToneMatch audio engine that gives him the very best audio system in the music industry. With a voice that can sing everything from Marty Robbins to ZZ Top, Mister “D” can sing it all. Playing mostly private parties, weddings, Ballroom Dance Clubs, anniversaries, he can do whatever you need for your function.
Mister “D” is looking forward to finally taking some time and get in the recording studio. Although he has done some recording at an early age with other groups and done some recording in his own music room, he is hoping to put together a CD of his own. He would also like to use his music to help others.
