Mixtape Heroes plays out as mostly as an acoustic duo or trio or I (James) can also do solo acoustic shows as well.
We play everything from Beatles to Foo Fighters to Garth Brooks to Tom Petty to Zac Brown Band, to you name it… Basically, we play a bunch of songs people like and know all the words to and often times will stick around for another round or two since they are having a great time. We also can be terrific background music. :)

Born out of the desire to do something different, Mixtape Heroes is Chicagoland’s Newest Acoustic Duo/Trio featuring James Bruebach (Stranger Things, 38 Acres) Rhythm Guitar/Vocals, and Peter Kruse (Poetic Karma, Gain of 10, Rufus Tree) on Lead Guitar/Vocals.
With years of stage and studio experience, and hundreds if not thousands of shows between them, Mixtape Heroes plays a wide variety of crowd-pleasing songs from the 60’s to today. We know that music is something people can all relate to and love to listen to. That is what we aim to do. Scratch the musical itch with a twist. Come out to a show and see what we mean.
