This talented and award winning group of musicians came has created a new sound in Americana and Bluegrass music with a mix of originals and unique covers reflected in their first two CDs Every Second and Blue Diesel. Mark Miller and Randy Hanson created this group with a new, soulful sound rooted in original Folk and Bluegrass music. Joined by Jason “Banjo Slim” Weiss (Banjo and Vocals), Orion Boucher (Bass and Vocals), and multi-instrumentalist Dan Sankey (Fiddle and Vocals), MohaviSoul blends a variety of sounds of contemporary bluegrass to yield a contagious mix of styles that keep you dancing and singing all night.
Mohavi Soul is an amazingly skilled collection of musicians. Their original songs, and their take on others’, showcase the depth and diversity that makes bluegrass so special! But they’re also just good people. When we had to postpone their performance for my Dad’s 80th birthday, they still came by to sing a few songs and lighten his heart. Hire them if you love bluegrass. And hire them if you think heart and kindness still matter!
What's a farm wedding without a down-to-earth, foot stompin' band??? Incomplete, that's what.
From set up to break down, they followed through, they were intuitive per our needs, and they were interactive in al the right ways. MohaviSoul played soothing acoustic Americana jams during our cocktail hour, played next amidst our guests during dinner, then plugged in for a couple hours as the dancing commenced. They played our requested music with their own artistic flare, and perpetualed the reciprocal feeding that cycles from the dancers to the band to the dancers to the band. We kept each other in high vibes, and they certainly did their job creating an upbeat and celebratory dance floor for our multicultural group.
We would have them back for any future parties. And look forward to going to their shows throughout San Diego.
Cheers to all who made our event spectacular.
I booked MohaviSoul for a vow renewal/wedding type ceremony and reception on the beach. From our very first correspondence, they were very professional and accommodating to my numerous questions or concerns. I spoke with Randy over the course of a few months and he was able to guide me into making the right decisions for our event in regards to their performance. MohaviSoul is a very talented group and because of this they were able to adapt to our specific needs easily on the day of the event. All of the band members are courteous and fun! Hiring this band made our day so much more enjoyable. Not only did they play bluegrass, which we love, but they covered numerous other songs and genres which gave all of our guests a great experience. I'd book this band again in a heartbeat!
