Momentum Featuring Joy

We had a fantastic wedding celebration with Momentum featuring Joy. All of our guests were raving about how amazing they were. They were also incredibly nice and enjoyable to talk to in between sets. They really made our celebration run smoothly; the music will be central to our fond memories of the day.

I hired this group to play a cover of Harvest Moon during my surprise proposal. Knowing full well I was asking a jazz band to cover a folk song, I asked “looking for something that’s still true to the original but romantic af” and boooooy did they deliver. Would absolutely recommend.

Also our dog really seemed to like them, and he’s a great judge of character lol.

Everyone was asking me how I decided to go with this band and I said through Gig Salad! A Roaring 20s themes party right on Times Square with this amazing band really set the mood for the evening! Everyone was asking... how do we top this? Thanks Grady and Joy for giving our guests a wonderful New York City experience that'll last a lifetime!

We wanted to create a sophisticated, romantic environment for our nyc wedding and momentum featuring joy delivered that as well as more than we could ever imagine. The band/vocalist are nothing both professional and extremely prompt for scheduling, coordinating, etc. Our guests as well as ourselves found the band to be a refreshing change from your run of the mill music at a wedding. One of our best decisions in wedding planning; highly recommend.

Grady Tesch’s skills as a bandleader, performer, and composer/arranger really show in their performance. The arrangements and energy make for a real crowd-pleasing show.

We invited The Momentum Band to play for our boys birthday party. It was a Hawaii themed outdoor event and we wanted a band that could play it all. Grady and his team did a terrific job, playing hits for all ages and music preferences. This was the best experience we had with hiring talent, they were great with communicating, time management, and flexible about taking music requests from our guests. Everyone had a blast, including the band. To many more occasions that we plan to have Momentum as an appearance!!! Cheers!!

We were looking for a band to play our wedding without the trappings of a typical wedding band, and wow did Momentum deliver. They're wildly talented musicians in any context—many of our guests said it was the best band they'd ever heard at a wedding—and their love of the music is infectious for anyone who has the pleasure to see them play.

Grady is a dream to work with—flexible, accommodating, and very reasonable. The whole band was down to earth, generous, and a lot of fun to be around. I can't wait for the chance to see them again.. if only I could get married every weekend.

I was looking for a jazz band to play at a friends memorial. When I was online I seen the video of Momentum. They were just what I was looking for, the music and Joys voice was perfectly in tune with with each other. I had no doubt they were going to be the right band for the job. They seemed like a good group of people that came together and played their hearts out for everyone to enjoy and we did.
I couldn’t have picked a better band they returned my call promptly and gave me a price. Grady took down all the information they needed to get to the memoral. That morning they were there as promised and all ready to set up and preform.
Everyone came out of the church with sadness for their loss but when they heard the band I could see their joy come back again. The music made a transformation during our time of loss it took us all to a place that warmed our hearts and brought back good memories. I highly recommend them no matter what occasion you are celebrating you wont be disappointed.

Booked the band with Grady, and he was a breeze to work with. He was super accommodating to my requests! My company needed to book a band last minute for our Zoom Holiday Event. Grady was able to get the band together in one room and play a live session for an hour and a half. The only thing I would recommend is doing a sound check in advance to make sure everything is good and to avoid any technical difficulties. They played for 70 people, and everyone was pleased with their set list. They have a list of songs to choose from, so definitely look through it . Im sure you will be pleased.

We hosted a virtual concert for clients since we're in quarantine for 2 mos+ and it was amazing. Grady and the band really made this a special experience and Joy's voice projects so beautifully. Being able to experience a personalized concert was a big pick me up and the band delivered a seamless experience.

If you’re looking for a jazz band to set the mood and get the entire party vibing, look no further! Momentum is exceptional. Joy’s voice is unlike no other. They played for my dad’s surprise 75th birthday party in NJ and guests are still raving and asking “where did you find that band?!” Grady was such a pleasure to work with - responsive, professional and extremely reliable. They showed up right on time and in addition to be incredibly talented, the chemistry and friendship between the band members is palpable and makes their energy infectious. You can feel their passion and love for what they do - they have FUN! I plan lots of events and am extremely particular about every detail - I was thrilled with Momentum. Highly recommend!

Momentum was perfect for the wedding! Very professional and the music was on point - some of the guests were commenting they wanted to hire the group for their own events. Working with Grady was very easy and when we requested certain songs he arranged them for the band and it couldn't have made the night any more special. Highly recommend them!

I can not speak highly enough about Grady and the Momentum group. When we were planning our wedding we had such a hard time deciding on what we should do for music. My {now} husband Matt and I went to a local jazz club where we heard the group play and it was like a light shown down and said "This is it!"

We mostly corresponded with Grady leading up to the wedding and he was just lovely. While both of us enjoy music and jazz, neither myself nor my partner had a very clear idea of exactly what we wanted. All we did was describe what we wanted the vibe (no pun intended) of the wedding to be and Grady really did an incredible job of pulling together the perfect set. He even composed an arrangement of Clair de Lune for the ceremony- it was beautiful.

During and ever since the wedding, my guests have told me how blown away they were by Momentum and Joy Elysee and I couldn't agree more. They brought so much energy and life to the ceremony and reception with their performance. It was a perfect blend of classy, unique, and fun which is pretty much wedding goals, amiright?

Not only is the Momentum group mega talented, with such a unique sound, but also they are an absolute delight to work with. I'm hoping to never have to plan another wedding, but for any event needing live music in the future, Grady will be the first person I call. Thank you so much to all four of you for helping make our wedding amazing!

When it comes to hiring a band for your wedding or even a corporate event, it’s hard not to fall for generics. Sure, there are some great ones out there, but they’re basically traveling jukeboxes.
Enter virtuosic vibraphonist Grady Tesch and his supremely talented quartet, Momentum.
I’d been a fan of Tesch’s work for some time before my wife and I hired Momentum for our wedding. We knew they’d be great, and would add a classy, jazzy touch to the ceremony and reception. What we didn’t know was how amenable the band would be with song requests (of several genres, mind you), let alone how flawless their performance was. Not only did they play each song to perfection, they quite literally made the entire afternoon perfect.
We’re thrilled and proud to say that Grady Tesch and Momentum were such an integral and memorable part of our wedding day, and can’t wait to witness their inevitably meteoric rise in the music industry.
Not to mention the fact that we’ll be able to say we knew before they were famous :)
