I’ve seen Monica perform a number of times. As a host or a headliner, she has an amazing stage presence and control of the room. Not only is she funny, she has a knack for adapting to her audience, so even if a particular bit doesn’t connect in the moment, she’s fantastic and regaining control with on the spot additions and improvisations.
I got the chance to see Monica, back in August, immediately her style of comedy stood out from everyone else! Most comedians I’ve experienced refer to vulgar language and forms of comedy that referred to sex drugs and money! This is why Monica stood out. She was the light in the dark place! I've seen Monica at a few shows around Columbus. Each time she brings new jokes and stories to the table. She is clever and has a way to tie in jokes with one another that always takes the humor to the next level!
I've seen Monica host an event about a year ago and participate in a competition over the summer. Each event, her comedy stands out amongst the rest because of her wit. Comedy shows sometimes can be a little awkward for me with the crass humor or over self-deprecating jokes, but Monica is naturally witty. Her jokes make you think and she's intentional to bring a laugh to her audience. Anyone can make a crass joke but it takes talent to create witty comedy.
The first time I saw Monica was at the pun competition last summer in Newark Ohio. I was very amazed at her delivery, her high standard jokes, and her overall cuteness; how she stood up against veteran raw comedic jokes and killed it. She won the round competition and I was thrilled to see it. It’s no joke that she can stand up to clean and simple story lines without diversion. Can’t wait to see you on February 10, 2024 at Art of the Republic.
I saw Monica on 3 different occasions, Columbus Showcase at Funny bone (× 2) and at another club. She has nice, smooth delivery, and a speech pattern that is understandable to the general audience. Her comedy is clean and smart, referencing cultural topics with a comedic eye. I thoroughly enjoyed her and by the sounds of laughter and applause , so did the audiences!
