Bio
Jacquelyn A. King is a soul singer/songwriter from Atlanta, Ga, who has been influenced musically by her mother who was a professional singer and songwriter. Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, Rachelle Ferrell and Anita Baker are also among those who have influenced Jacquelyn musically. She loves lending her Southern gospel roots to all genres of music whether it be gospel, inspirational, pop, rock, jazz or Musical Theatre. Her original music style is mostly contemporary gospel with cool beats giving you some jazz flavor. Think Rachelle Ferrell meets contemporary gospel. You’ll also find in her repertoire of original tunes a splash of what she refers to as “Music with a Message” which offers fun melodies with a positive message. Her passion is singing and telling others about Christ Jesus through music and just plain ‘ole encouraging others. Apart from singing, she enjoys spending time with family, songwriting, writing books (author of “Pursuit of My Purpose") & giving back to the homeless community through her nonprofit called, "Snacky Jackie's gluten-free Food Pantry.".

1) My mother influenced me a lot because she was also a professional singer. Growing up, I enjoyed hearing my mother sing her church choir as she lead gospel songs such as "God Is" by James Cleveland and "He's that Kind of Friend" lead by Tremaine Hawkins. I also come from a background of other singers - my father was a quartet singer and my siblings, grandmother and grandfather, aunts, uncles, cousins, niece and nephews are all singers. To this day, our family group is called "NuSound".
2) Whitney Houston - in her prime is my all-time favorite female artist.
3) Luther Vandross- My oldest brother played his music in our home growing up. He actually sounds like Luther Vandross.
4) Anita Baker - I used to play Anita Baker a lot in the 90's.
5) Toni Braxton - I absolutely love to hear Toni Braxton! My family group, "NuSound" used to sing "Another Sad Love Song".
6) Boyz 2 Men - These guys are my all-time favorite male R&B singing group.
