Kiko Torres Velasco is a highly experienced award-winning classical pianist with a USC Bachelor’s degree in piano performance. His skills are most developed in solo classical piano repertoire, including Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Debussy, Ravel and Rachmaninoff - however, he has experience performing almost all genres of piano, from instrumental, vocal, and theater accompaniment to American and Afro-Latin jazz including Gershwin and Jobim. Additionally, he is proficient in both sight-reading and improvisation. He is currently pursuing his Masters degree in piano performance at USC (University of Southern California).
I hired Kiko to rehearse with my daughter in preparation for a popular music audition in contemplating vocals. Kiko learned the music (one song was original) very quickly and understood the nuances of all the songs. He was dependable and gave it his all. Kiko is a very good collaborator and put my daughter at ease. I would hire him again 💯
Kiko was well prepared for our rehearsals and did a fantastic job at the performance!

I wear formal attire, sometimes with some added color, and prefer to play on an acoustic piano. I can bring my own full size Yamaha keyboard if necessary. I greet all guests with a warm smile, good humor and positive attitude. I am always open to additional repertoire requests from the guests during the event.
From a very young age I have always dreamed of being a concert pianist, playing in great halls across the world. After over 15 years of practicing and performing in front of audiences, I recently finished my undergraduate classical piano studies at USC with a BM, and am now starting my masters program at USC. Born in Oakland and raised by my musician parents in Santa Cruz, CA, my early years of childhood were filled with music. My parents performed traditional Latin American folk music together, and I spent many late nights hearing music and applause, dancing footsteps and laughter. In 2008 I moved to Placerville, where I spent the rest of my childhood surrounded by trees, rivers and mountains. In my early adulthood I found myself drawn towards nature, and to this day I regularly frequent local hiking trails and scenic spots to rest and reflect. Today my pursuits of a successful concert pianist career are as certain as ever, and yet my ambition for what difference I can make in this world has expanded greatly. I don’t just want to play beautiful music; I want to transform people’s outlook on life. I have found classical music and nature to be some of the most healing forces on this planet, and I want the world to heal together with the simple wisdom of being present and listening.
If no acoustic piano is provided, I will need easy access to a power outlet as well as a piano bench. If there are specific repertoire requests that I do not have memorized, I may need a music stand and possibly the sheet music for the requested piece of music.
