Musae can provide choral music for weddings, parties, funerals, recording sessions, and more. We can send our full sized ensemble (18-20 singers) or a small group of singers (soloist, quartet, octet). Musae sings a variety of treble repertoire, from treble classics to newly composed music. We also have a wide variety of holiday music in our repertoire and some vocal jazz and pop. While Musae occasionally sings with a piano, most of our repertoire is sung without accompaniment.
My wife and I got married on May 11th, 2024 and we spent many weeks deliberating about what musical group we should hire for our marriage celebration. We had a 'traditional' Catholic wedding, which involved a Mass celebration, so we needed a group willing to sing sacred/religious music.
After listening to samples of various music groups available for hire, we were BLOWN AWAY by the lush harmonies and mellifluous voices of Musae - so much so, that my (then) fiancee and I immediately reached out to the group to see if they were available for our wedding.
What we really appreciated was the group's total transparency about not being a 'religious music' group, but also, their willingness to offer songs from their library that might be appropriate for the occasion (of which they had many.)
So, beginning in March, the group worked closely with us to decide which pieces they'd sing at various points in our ceremony, as well as tailoring the arrangements for a six-singer group (as we decided that a sextet was in our budget, after working with Kim from Musae on the options available.)
Leading up to the day, we had two Zoom calls to coordinate with Kim and Colleen (which they kindly arranged while being sensitive to everyone's schedule) and by the day of the wedding, we had ZERO concern about the musical portion of our wedding because we'd had so much careful preparation.
On the big day, the performance was incredible. Our guests said things like 'the performance of the choir was so transcendent and sublime, I felt transported to a heavenly place,' and '...as soon as the choir started singing and Dani (my wife) began walking down the aisle, I couldn't stop crying, it was so beautiful.'
All I can say is that Musae was, without a doubt, the most unforgettable part of our wedding. What a pleasure it was to work with them, and what a gift it was to have such talent at our wedding. Please, reach out to them if you have a special function (secular, religious, or otherwise) that needs top notch choral music.
Response from Musae:
Quinn and Dani, we were delighted to be part of your special day! Working with you both was such a pleasure, and we are so glad you chose us to bring music into your ceremony. Your communication was excellent and our singers had a fantastic experience with you. Thank you for entrusting us with this incredible honor!

We have a large and diverse repertoire, and we are available to sing at holiday parties, birthday parties, corporate events, fundraising galas, memorial services, weddings, or other special occasions. Our group size is flexible and you can customize your experience with an ensemble as small as a quartet or as large as our full group (usually 18-20 singers). If you would like to hire a soloist, we can match you with a wonderful solo singer. We require no extra gear (we are our own instruments)!
Musae is a treble vocal ensemble based in San Francisco. The group takes its name from the original "ladies of song," the classic nine Muses of Greek mythology. Since its founding in 2004, Musae has performed diverse and accessible music throughout the Bay Area, and continues to stretch the boundaries of traditional repertoire for treble voices.
Musae functions as a musical collective in which each singer identifies as a leader and soloist contributing actively to the artistic process. The group's singers are trained in the choral tradition, but not bound by it. Each singer may sing a range of voice parts based on the aesthetic demands of the music, and the group performs largely without a conductor.
We generally perform without microphones. If amplification is needed, we request a sound check prior to the event.
We are able to learn any piece of treble choral repertoire, and we have an extensive repertoire list to choose from. The lists below are a selection of options for weddings or holiday parties.
