My name is Lily and I'm a super fun kids performer. I run my own sing-a-longs in Brooklyn and am available for Birthday Parties and kids events in the New York City area and Long Island.
I sing all the classics (head shoulders, old macdonald, itsy bitsy etc.) with pizzazz and even throw in some original songs like "Jungle Birthday" (imagine a group of 20 kids roaring like lions all together... it's pretty fun). I am also more than happy to learn any specific songs for your event.
I'll travel anywhere within the New York City region and my prices are scaled appropriately to the event. I'm always happy to hear what your needs are and work with you to make it a terrific experience.

Lily has that 'special something' that appeals to both children (even tiny babies) and adults... her voice is naturally beautiful and her personality is addictive. She charms the kids with her guitar and keeps them captivated through active participation. My 16 month old daughter and I frequent the sing-a-long sessions Lily offers around our neighborhood at every opportunity. The classics are always fun, but what makes Lily really stand out are the original children songs she sprinkles in that always have the kids bouncing and the adults smiling :)
I have been taking my daughter to Lily's sing-a-long sessions since she was 3.5 months old, often going 3 times a week since we always have such a great time. I have to say that Lily is exceptionally good value, always giving it her all in terms of energy, enthusiasm and commitment to making sure the kids have a wonderful hour. It's obvious that she genuinely loves babies and kids. Lily builds great rapport and fully interacts with her audience, and is also sensitive to the needs of babies and young children, adjusting the tempo from time to time. My daughter seems to particularly enjoy Lily's original songs, which reflect the depth of Lily's creativity and imagination and set her apart. I can't say enough good things about Lily, she's also just a really lovely, fun person and very eager to please.

I bring my 1 year old son to Lily's weekly singalong and he adores her. He smiles and laughs the entire time. She gets the kids and parents involved singing and dancing. I think my son shows more if an interest in music now. She plays classic children's songs, oldies and even her own written songs. I asked her to play at my sons 1st birthday party and she made it such a special day. She tailored the songs to our party theme and entertained 10 kids aged 1-9. (adults too). Lily genuinely loves what she does!

Lily performs a perfect blend of songs for kids of all ages (itsy bitsy spider, wheels on the bus, etc), songs adults are familiar with and aren't annoying (Bob Marley, Beatles, etc) and her original songs, which are sure to become hits! They certainly are at our house! We've attended many performances by area kids musicians and Lily is by far the all-around best for entertainment and value. She has the "it factor" when interacting with kids. Watch out, Raffi.

We frequently attend Lily's sing-a-longs! She is engaging, charismatic, light hearted, easy going and talented! Her performances are enjoyable for children of all ages and adults too! She plays the classics as well catchy, fun originals that have quickly become favorites in our house! She is also always up for suggestions! Yes, Lily is incredibly likable and talented but what we love most about her is her fun loving passion for not only music, but to spread love of music to the kids! She is wonderful! Highly recommend her for any age party!

Lily's energy with kids and talent as a musician and writer are a perfect match. My son and I have really enjoyed her sing along sessions in Williamsburg. Her creativity to involve kids from all ages and also their parents is contagious! I live the sessions inspired to create myself. I can't wait to see her performing in birthday parties! I hired Lily for my one year old's birthday party. My little one is obsessed with music and Lily really made sure she had a blast. These are just a few of the wonderful components of my sing-a-longs that I to bring to the table. My approach with my birthday parties and kids events is to help children connect to music and creativity in whatever way comes naturally to them. I'm a professional singer and guitarist and certainly put on a good show technically, however my focus is really on all the small interactions between kids and their parents during the event. It's the human interaction surrounded by positive music and experience that makes me love what I do.
Logistically I perform a 30-45 minute set, depending on your needs and sing classics, originals and some older pop tunes like the Beatles that everyone can sing a long to. I also sing in Spanish and can incorporate more or less foreign language songs as you see fit. (I speak Spanish and Portuguese). I am always happy to sing specific songs upon request. I also bring a set of shakers, scarves, a couple handheld animal puppets and stamps!

For personal parties and events, my set up is simple. I bring my voice and my guitar so as long as you have a spot for me to play in, that's all I need. I can perform in both a circle environment or on stage. For large groups of over 20 kids I do prefer to play on a raised platform so everyone can see. For extra large performances I will need a mic and a PA system.

For younger kids I'm a huge fan of folksy acts like Raffi as well the Beatles. My original younger kids songs include "Jungle Birthday" lullabies like Raindrop and a whole lotta call and response with "Big Kid"
Current kids artists I admire include: Dan Zanes, Tim and the Space Cadets, and Justin Roberts. The last two are really great in incorporating bigger kid themes into their lyrics. I do this in some of my older kids songs like "Snack Attack"... a bluesy number that will have both the kids and adults laughing!
