NWN will provide a high level of quality and professionalism to any event. Having toured and traveled all over, NWN has crafted their sound, attitude and presentation to accommodate any environment.
Names Without Numbers is a four-piece rock and roll band from Omaha, NE / Council Bluffs, IA. The band was originally formed by a group of longtime friends and musicians trying to transition away from their pop-punk roots to a grittier, emotional style of rock.
On their first album, Running Marathons / Chasing Ambulances, the group started to find their voice, with a collection of songs that are as honest as they are energetic. As a tribute, in a way, to losing one of the founding members to law school, the album reflects on the band’s uncertain future as people change, grow older, and move away.
The band played and/or toured throughout the midwest with the likes of Jimmy Eat World, Dashboard Confessional, As I Lay Dying, Copeland, Plain White T’s, and dozens of other acts before deciding to take a break to focus on other projects and responsibilities. This didn’t last long, however, and NWN eventually decided to regroup and continue creating music that inspires them.
NWN is now back with a long-overdue second full-length album, Silos & Smokestacks. With the help of longtime friend and producer, Michael King, they’ve taken their guitar-driven indie-rock style and blended in plenty of pop sensibility, and melodies you’ll have stuck in your head for days. The new record will be released Friday, Dec 13th 2019 via Indie Vision Music.
Stylistically, the band plays a blend of indie-power-pop, with plenty of raw emotion and catchy hooks. Some bands with a comparable style include Motion City Soundtrack, The Get Up Kids, Jimmy Eat World, Moving Mountains, Anberlin, and Thrice.
This can vary depending on performance size, venue, location, etc.
