I am a motivational speaker, author and coach who helps people and organizations overcome challenges and be the best leaders they can be. Every talk is filled with stories and practical examples while including a wide range of personal experiences, ideas and pictures that audiences resonate with and hear in language that they understand.
I value each opportunity so I bring my best to every event. I also learn about both the leaders and attenders for each event so that my talk will best fit their needs and goals. Success for the meeting or event planner is my number 1 priority. I can also continue an ongoing relationship with any group and will be an active resource for them as needed.

First and foremost I'm committed to communicating with the planners of each event. I know that they can't be successful unless they know just what to expect from me on every level and that I will respond promptly to their requests.
Second, you can count on me to do more than just show up. I will come early and stay through an entire event if at all possible so that I can talk with people who want to know more, have questions or just desire to say hello. I don't need a lot of extras but will let you know what will help me to be as successful as possible and to be sure that you have a home run event.
Third, I will work with each planner or leader to tailor a talk that can best meet the needs and interests of their audience. If you are asking for something I can't give I won't accept the invitation just to get another gig. As I said earlier I want you to be successful!
I've been speaking before a variety of audiences of all sizes - offices, classrooms, churches, conferences, workshops, etc. - for nearly forty years. I've also written six books, including my last two called “Never Quit Climbing" and "Finding Dominoes: Changing Your World One Encounter At a Time. These and the others are also available on (link hidden). I love to communicate and to do it in ways that people remember what they've heard and leave differently than when they came.
I'm certified as a coach and speaker with the John Maxwell Team and have spoken in the U.S. and dozens of times overseas.
I've been an educator, consultant, counselor, church leader and chaplain in the marketplace. I'm passionate about people being re-energize, renewing their purpose and passion, overcoming their challenges, growing their leadership skills and increasing their impact on others. I love to teach the practical principles of leadership, how to overcome personal struggles and the principles of healthy relationships. As a Baby Boomer, I realize that much of the leadership and training today is done by people much younger than me. However, I have a heart to both help young leaders and to challenge older adults to not relegate themselves to the couch but to continue to help change the world especially ONE person at a time.
I've been married to Jackie since 1976, have two grown children and six grandsons. I love my family and enjoy spending time with them. I also realize how much I've learned from them and enjoy sharing those lessons with others. I have traveled to Easter Europe twenty times helping to teach and train leaders there as well.
Years ago I became very passionate about the mountains and have hiked or climbed nine 14,000' peaks in Colorado along with peaks or trails in Alaska, Yosemite, Switzerland, Austria and Canada. I use mountain illustrations in many of my talks especially those for people struggling with their own personal mountains. My wife actually climbed a 14er when she had cancer (unknown at the time) and we have used that experience often to share how she made it over her cancer mountain.
I am thankful to be healthy enough to continue to share what I've learned through a variety of experiences including a recent transplant. I'm especially passionate about those working with people - educators, medical personnel, first responders, faith leaders and mental health professionals who often never see the fruit of their wonderful work.
I usually only need a headset microphone, Power Point projector depending upon the talk, simple podium, water to drink and a clear time guideline.
