This is a Malt Shop Oldies tribute band. You can expect a variety of musical styles from the early days of Rock 'n' Roll to be specially arranged and performed authentically. Genres we cover: Rock 'n' Roll, Rhythm and Blues, Doo-Wop, Rockabilly, Teen Idol, Surf, Soul, Rock Instrumentals, and Vintage Ballads. As we expand, we'll be including Girl-Group material as well. We strive to bring energy and quality to the show and to open the door for audiences of all ages to enjoy this great era of music together! Our rep roughly ranges from the years of (phone number hidden)4. There are currently 11 people in the band bringing a lush sound to an era already rich with vocal and instrumental harmony. We cover the biggest hits, some forgotten hits, as well as some deeper cuts to keep the band unique. We cover the major artists of the day as well as some one hit wonders. Expect to bring your dancing shoes because this music will make you move or fall in love, or both!
The Road Hawks are the brainchild of Nick Falco who spent most of his life collecting and learning to play and sing songs from the golden age of Rock 'n' Roll. Nick is a trained singer who majored in music at Elmhurst College (now University), is a long-time member of the Chicago Symphony Chorus, and also a local singer and voice teacher. The Road Hawks are made up of 10 very talented and accomplished musicians who have come together to join Nick in bringing this great music back to the public music scene!
We will require space large enough for 7 to 11 people, a drum set, and 3 to 4 amps. If performing outside we'd need a flat level area to set up. The band consists of Lead Vocals/Keys, Drums, Bass, Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Tenor Sax, Bari Sax, 4 back up vocalists. We will need monitors particularly for the vocals and saxes, 5 vocal mics, 2 sax mics, mains, and likely an 8 to 16-channel mixer. The band does not currently provide its own sound, so prices will increase if we need to hire a sound technician.
