I'm a seasoned vocalist; I've performed throughout the world & the US. I can sing & play piano as a solo act, although I prefer to sing with a band. I studied piano for 8 years at the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago & I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Roosevelt University in Chicago & a Master’s Degree in Music from The University of Illinois in Urbana. I also sing blues, R&B, gospel, neo soul & opera. I'm a singer- composer & I'm currently writing my 6th album. I have great stage presence & I'm an entertainer who can make an audience fall in love with my essence. I've played the starring role in many musical operas, & I love entertaining people & making them smile!
Nina gave us just what we wanted. Lovely and beautifully dressed. Gorgeous singing. Nina was a hit!
Response from Nina Causey:
Hi Janet,
You’re such a charming hostess‼️
It was such a pleasure meeting you & Barbara, & all the other lovely ladies! Your Mother is so delightful, & I truly appreciate the care you took in helping me with my equipment! The other ladies were fun-loving & sweet, & the informal setting was quite enjoyable. The drummer, Myron, added a special touch!
Give your Mother, Barbara, a hug for me!
Blessings Always 🙏🏼💞

I sing from my heart & soul; I look directly into the audience’s faces, as I walk slowly & deliberately from the left to toward the middle, & then to the right side of the stage to concentrate on each major point on the stage & intently include everyone with my body language, engaging smile, & bring each person into my grasp so that the effect is to make everyone feel that I’m singing directly to them.
When the music & my emotions interact accordingly, I dance & gently move to the beat.
It’s as though I’m virtually making love to my audience through the music…
Im a born entertainer, & I love making people smile and get caught up in my performance, & then react in their own ways, usually by smiling, laughing when I tell jokes, or make hilarious comments, & most importantly, they get involved with movement, clapping, etc.

Nina grew up in Chicago.
I like having monitors in front of the stage & preferably hanging microphones from the ceiling if it’s a theater setting.
A cordless microphone on a stand is compulsory, so that I can choose the time when I want to get up close and personal with the audience, I can just grab the mic and walk closer to the front of the stage, and then, at other times, I can stand in front of the microphone stand and use my arms appropriately. (In addition, I’ll want a boom microphone stand at the piano when I sing & play piano~)
A grand piano is also a requirement, so that I can walk over to the piano once or twice during the concert & “get down on the piano”, then I can stand up & walk to the front of the stage & grab the cordless microphone & bring the song to a close, while the band keyboardist continues to play as I move to the front.
A sound engineer is mandatory to maintain clear, even sound all the way around, especially so that the musician’s instruments don’t overshadow my voice. I like to sing softly at times, & then belt it out when the time is right ~
I always enjoy having my own dressing room to change clothes & touch up my makeup.
