Nomad Slot Car Racing

We encourage everyone for take part in hands-on racing. It's so easy anyone can do it. 3 year olds play, elderly play, serious gamers play, real auto racers play and everyone has fun. We have the system optimized for ease of play, yet there is room for skill and tactics, so our racing is highly addictive.

This is not traditional slot car racing with one car per lane and crashing every time you go to fast. New technology allows multiple cars per lane and passing while the cars can be safely driven at top speed. Lots of crashes occur, but hey are part of the fun! We think our slot car racing is more exciting to watch than real auto racing, it's not loud, you can see the whole race, it's faster, there is more action, more winners and the racers are not wearing helmets so their faces and comments are part of the show! for all to see!

We use sound effects and high quality PA to address the racers and fans. Just like real racing there are many opportunities for logo placement and catchphrases can be worked into our verbal presentation.

So, we can entertain a small group for any age or mixed ages, or we can functions as a traffic builder to attract and engage in a trade show or promotional situation.

Nomad was founded by Jim Cunningham, whose passion for and vast experience with, slot car racing began with fun of playing with slot cars as a young boy. His lifelong participation in the hobby at all levels including building of world class tracks, cars and victories in international competitions, has given him a deep understanding of the attraction and advantages of this form of miniature auto racing.

Jim's strong creative skills have lead him to optimize the equipment and presentation for maximum fun, ease of participation and excitement, tailored to any audience. Before founding Nomad Slot racing in 2001, Jim founded built and lead a team of craftsmen at CyclArt, Inc. performing exacting restoration services, and creative finishing for the bicycle industry. Clients included the most exacting of collectors and the marketing departments of the world's largest bicycle companies. Jim has provided technical and marketing consulting services throughout the industry.

Nomad Slot Racing has thrilled innumerable private party and club events. Nomad Portable tracks are delivered to events in the southwestern US in our trucks. Frequent venues include San Diego, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. For more distant events, tracks are available for shipment or even as checked baggage and assembled on site. Such tracks have appeared at events in Austin TX, Orlando FL, Seattle WA, Reno NV, Salt Lake City UT and Copenhagen Denmark.

Our race tracks come in a variety of sizes and can be located indoors or out. We can provide canopies and can run on silent battery power if needed. Our wireless microphone and video displays provide adequate coverage in most cases, but can be linked to multiple displays or larger sound systems on request. We can provide specific types and brands of cars on request and our tracks, cars and canopies can be branded to put client logos where the action is!

Nomad Slot Racing provides a self-contained, fully supervised entertainment for a broad range of environments. It's always Fast Fun!

For most of our tracks we require a 10 x 20 space, indoor or shaded and 100W of 110v power. If necessary, we can bring a canopy, lights and battery power by request and at extra cost.

We wear a wireless microphone and bring a small PA, so we can be heard above the cheering. If we are in a room with very loud music consider supplementing our PA, or moving us to a quieter area.

We wheels our tracks into any man sized door and can travel use elevators or other obstacles if they allow for 4 x 8 x 2 foot components. We charge a base rate, for two hours then an hourly rate while in operation and a lower waiting time rate if we need to wait to set up and set down. We carry 2M liability insurance.

WE travel any where. We are based in San Diego, CA, but have been know to travel internationally. For distant ravel we use a special track that pack small and set up on tables on site. For local events, we provide the tables. Travel fees, if any, will be included in our bid.
