Drawing Booth

After much discussion over one year prior to my wedding, I booked two artists for five hours, strictly to assure enough artists and time for all my guests to be drawn; as these were my favors. Shira specifically assisted me with timing and the number of artists I would need to achieve this total by the end of my event. (I even purchased photo frames, designed and printed instructions inside each frame, which were placed at each guest’s setting to insert their portraits.) This was the vendor I was most excited about for my wedding. The night-of, over two hours after the start time of my wedding, I realized the “artists” were hard to find, I still did not have my own portrait with my groom and my guests were not aware of any roaming sketch artists. So I had to search, ask my venue attendees for help and track one down. Finally but unfortunately, I was informed by the artist there was only ONE present at my wedding for the entire night. Not to mention, this one artist was taking extremely long to draw, which I was guaranteed by Shira (in writing) would take a maximum of 7 minutes per portrait. This one artist was averaging 25+ minutes per drawing and got so defensive when I questioned why there was only one artist, why no one ever told me both would not be present and why she was taking so long to draw. She was extremely rude to me, my family and my guests. When many approached her, multiple times throughout the night, to ask for their print-outs (their photos were taken hours prior), she would put her one finger up in my guest’s face (as to say “wait”) without looking up from her iPad, which made my guests just walk away uncomfortably. LESS THAN ONE THIRD OF MY GUESTS RECEIVED A DRAWING. A total of 47 people were drawn out of an expected 150 and half of those were never printed nor handed to my guests (I specifically asked afterwards for all of the drawings from my wedding for proof of how little the artist accomplished). When my sister asked for a portrait the artist told her she didn’t have time. I was so confused and extremely embarrassed - especially since the frames I wasted money on, staring at my guests, instructed them to place their drawing inside to take home. IT GETS WORSE: afterwards, the company offered to refund me $800 out of the $2,800 I paid. What a disgrace. There were too many emails back and forth of me requesting no less than HALF my money back - since they provided HALF the artists I paid for. Seems simple (and fair) right? This company is run by complete amateurs who will not do right after their blatant errors; and send impolite, unprofessional artists to fail at their overpriced services. Save your money! Such an unfortunate, complete let down.
