I've been planning events in Jacksonville for close to a decade now (and attending them for longer!). I first started working with Kim as a coordinator at the Jacksonville zoo and Gardens and I now book regularly as a Project Manager at Sight & Sound/Mugwump Productions.
Kim is not only one of the most talented, life-altering, inspiring voices you will ever hear, but she is the kindest and most professional I've had the pleasure of encountering. I've used her for many corporate events and she has always been the easiest to work with from beginning to end. I even invited her to perform at my own twin sister's wedding!! My family now understands why I was so excited to have them.
She is flexible, understands the specific needs and goals of any event, and can perform any genre. She is patient with unruly party guests (my family included) and there is never "dead air". She checks all the boxes.

If you want a FUN and talented band, I cannot recommend any other musicians than Kim and Ocean Avenue Entertainment! Following COVID, we planned our wedding outdoors but just wanted a really great party as we had not seem many of our family and friends for a long time. A musician friend of mine recommended Kim and from the first time we connected via phone I knew they were the one. She was knowledgeable about event setup, audio needs, and MCing. It was very refreshing to just relay our vision and have them take care of executing the goal. Our contract and payment were stated upfront and were exactly as agreed upon. When we met in person before my wedding, it was like we were old friends who had known each other forever. This put me at ease. The band knew their job and made sure the day remained about our union and our guests. We have eclectic taste in music, so the band played everything from salsa hits to 90's anthems. During the wedding, I even got on stage to sing and they were my backup. Our guests danced nonstop and we had so much fun. It was my favorite day in life so far! The biggest compliment is that in the months following our wedding, friends and family are STILL talking about how awesome our band was! They nailed it. * M.C. service including but not limited to announcing the bridal party, cake cutting and any other special events throughout the evening.

*Up to Four Live sets which can include a cocktail hour and/or a dinner set. Extra sets can be added for a fee.
*Three special song performances (first/parent dances) - if we don’t know them we will learn them or we can play them on IPod.
*We LOVE to cater to our clients preferred top five genres! We WILL respect client's "dis-like" song list.
* Full professional sound system sized for your venue and number of guests including sound engineer plus DJ service during breaks.
*We are available to perform live acoustic or via IPOD at your wedding ceremony. If you prefer a string group for your ceremony, we can provide you with that as well!
*For corporate or special occasion parties, we can tailor your evening to keep the party going all night long! If there’s a theme, we will follow it! If you want us to dress up like pirates, then we will!
Our standard band size is 7 pieces. We go up to 10 pieces and as low as 2 pieces.
Ocean Avenue Entertainment has been playing together all over the state of Florida and beyond for over 10 years. The group started out as a Funk Blues band playing every nightclub, restaurant, and festival possible in and around Jacksonville, FL. For the last six years, they've been a valuable lead group for the nationally known corporate band Bay Kings and Emerald Empire Band. So, if there's a group out there that understands what a client needs for their big event from weddings to corporate parties and festivals, it's Ocean Avenue Entertainment! Ocean Avenue Entertainment’s resume grows by the week! In the last six years alone, they have played almost 700 corporate parties and weddings. They have grown from a small four-piece band to a clean in the pocket 7–10-piece group with the ability to keep the party going all night long!! Our lead vocalist Kim Reteguiz has won several awards for her vocal talents including a semi-finalist for the International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tennessee. But our Ocean City Vocalists are more than blues! They can belt out pop, Latin, rock, soul, funk, and even Opera! A night with Ocean Avenue Entertainment will be a night you will never forget!
We will play any venue, indoor or outdoor, land or sea. However, please provide a stable floor and a tent if we are to be out doors. Reliable electricity or a generator is necessary. If the venue is far away from any electrical outputs, then please provide adequate extension cords. A green room, or a section where we can store our equipment is helpful. Water/Sodas and a full meal must be provided for the band.
