Nestor is a world-class saxophonist, composer, and educator with a passion for creating transformative musical experiences. A versatile artist, he excels in Latin jazz, jazz, classical, fusion, and world music, and is recognized as one of the leading EWI (electric wind instrument) performers, known for his innovative and boundary-pushing artistry.
With a career spanning decades, Nestor has performed for distinguished audiences, including President Bill Clinton and First Lady Michelle Obama, and has collaborated with internationally acclaimed musicians. As a globally touring artist, he has graced stages across Italy, France, Spain, South America, and the United States, bringing his unique blend of cultural influences and musical expertise to diverse audiences.
A graduate of the New School of Jazz, Manhattan School of Music, and Miami Dade School of Music, Nestor honed his craft under the mentorship of jazz legends like Bobby Watson and Steve Slagel. His dedication to music education led him to found and direct the Jazz Department at the National Conservatory of Ecuador, where he also established the Classical Saxophone Program.
As a prolific composer with over 500 original works, Nestor leads several dynamic projects in Miami, including:
