We held a laughter yoga session here at our retirement community and Oni was amazing! She was super warm and welcoming to all of our residents in attendance and thoroughly explained the exercises and engaged the crowd. She event took time to talk to all residents before and after the session. I would highly recommend Oni to all!

Oni is a wonderful entertainer to work with. She was communicative during the booking process, and completely prepared the day of. She performed 'Lias' Mother for a group of seniors with Alzheimer's and dementia, and was amazing! Staff, residents, and family were all very impressed. She engaged the audience, bringing up residents to participate, and even getting a resident who never participates interested! Overall, a highly recommended performer. We will be inviting her back again in the future.
Oni's performance was the highlight of the evening, she was innovative, engaging and very educational. She has the ability to bring her character and settings to life. Watching Oni is an experience to be enjoyed and savored.

We had Oni visit as the Storyteller and she was simply fantastic. The children were so enthralled and excited that many of them ran up to give Oni hugs following the performance. The variety of stories told was great and her ability to connect with the children was awesome.

Yes! Thank you for your kind review. The children in your community were so attentive, enthusiastic and wide eyed with wonder, how could I not respond in kind. It was also the warm welcome of both staff and students that ignited me to bring the stories to life. The big kids (teachers) were amazing too! It is a challenge to present for such a wide age range but everyone was right in the moment with me and we had a fabulous time. It was an adventure in travel time over hill, dale, farm and fields to arrive at your lovely school, but worth the trip and I do hope to visit again in the future. Thanks for finding me and booking me via Gig Salad. It was memorable!

We recently had a visit from "Nana Aesop" (Oni Lasana) and it was wonderful. We are a residential facility that serves people with special needs--Nana Aesop was joyful and fun and the children and teens really enjoyed her stories! She was entertaining and full of positive energy. We look forward to having her back in the future :)

We reached out to Oni to help us with an annual children's festival held in the forest of a community park. She not only adapted a character to fit our needs but she went above and beyond to support and promote our event. She was a pleasure to work with and captivated over 250 visitors throughout the day and her energy never waned!

ONI LASANA...(oh-knee) is a vivacious international Professional Teaching & Performing Artist, Storyteller, Folklorist, Short Story Author, Poet, Spoken Word Artist, Musician, Music Arranger, Songwriter, Theater Director, Jewelry Artisan, Certified Laughter Yoga Leader, and a passionate advocate for Literacy, Wellness, and Arts in Education.
Born and raised in a musical family in Philadelphia, from the age of 4 she was reciting and singing nursery rhymes for her neighbors on their front porches. Her mother presented her on stage at age 8, in a full interpretive dance production of South Pacific and the love of music and poetry has followed her ever since.
A business career in the music industry and in radio, as a publisher, promoter, A&R rep, and radio producer led her into the performing arts. A visionary trailblazer she blends a unique style of educating in her all her programs and workshops.
Oni's years of experience in community theater and public/online radio have brought joyful experiences to audiences of all ages. In interactive storytelling, poetry, and performance workshops, she brings out the creative best in participants.
Since 1990, she is active in community theater as a performer, playwright, and creative director. Experience, research, study, and natural born talents have taken her far and wide as a Spoken Word Artist, Historical Interpreter, Folklorist, Poet, and an incomparable Storyteller. Having lived, visited, and performed throughout the US, England, Germany, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, and Zimbabwe she is an adventurous citizen of the world who enjoys sharing cultures in stories with the Zulu mantra of Ubuntu!
