Parting Waters

With us, you will get to experience a live Contemporary Worship set such as one you might hear from Bethel Music, Kari Jobe, or Elevation Worship. We are worship leaders and leading worship is our main focus. We also perform Contemporary Christian concerts such as one you might hear from Newsboys, Tenth Avenue North, or Hillsong United.

We are a 6 piece worship band ~ Marcus Barnes (Lead Vocals / Keys), Darcy Autenrieth (Vocals), Eli Schuette (BGVocals / Keys / Guitars), Makayla Smith (BGVocals / Violin), Ryan Wylde (Guitars), & Peter Martin (Drum Set).

We are new Contemporary Christian/Worship band from the St. Louis area. We are made up of local worship leaders/musicians that came together to form a band. Our style reflects that of Hillsong United, Hillsong Young & Free, Elevation Worship, Bethel Music, & Planetshakers. We love to get to have the opportunity to lead people into God's presence. We all love to be in his presence and worship him with the talents he has given each of us.

We were formed from an event held in Granite City, Illinois called Neon Nights: Light Up The Summer. It was a youth worship event and they needed a worship band, but wanted a combined band of different church worship leaders and musicians. The original members (Marcus Barnes, Abby Wilson, Emily Elliott, Jake May, Trevorr Cope, Warren Henderson, & Peter Martin) came together to form the Neon Nights Band. After Neon Nights being a success and people loving us as a band, we all thought why not continue together. And that's how Parting Waters came to be. Now with some of the original members, we have some new members that have joined us since we began. (Current Parting Waters members: Marcus Barnes, Darcy Autenrieth, Eli Schuette, Makayla Smith, Ryan Wylde, & Peter Martin.) We decided to get a real band name and make this thing real.

We picked the name Parting Waters because we want God to part the waters or obstacles in our lives so we can live freely and completely in his presence. (He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot--come, let us rejoice in him. ~ Psalms 66:6)
