Patchy Sanders

A heart opening experience of original song smothered in danceable folk music and interactive storytelling.

Patchy Sanders ((link hidden)) is peasant folk music —old oak barrels, mead, scythes, broomsticks, jugs and hearths. We conjure the pleas- antry of old and sink in with the beauty of the moment. We weave tapestrys of sound that remember the musical traditions of celtic, appalachian, medevial, and bluegrass; while building bridges into our current creation of today’s folk.

Patchy Sanders is two sisters, Jacqueline and Danielle Aubert, their lovers, Ian Van Ornum and Daniel Sherrill, and our dear friends Alex Patterson, Eric Jones, and Sara Wilbur. We are a family and we share love as much as music. We have all been writing and sharing songs for many years, performing for childrens groups, festivals, farmers markets, and stages far and wide. The instruments we most create with are, (but not limited to!) banjo, bouzouki, nylon and steel stringed guitars, mandolin, fiddle, 5 stringed double bass, pennywhistle, saw, ukulele, and lots of beautiful harmonized voices!

We can play a musical set with special inspired story telling for a set of 4 hours with prescribed breaks in between sets. Along with our musical performance we're able to lead and hold song circles for any occasion, for children to adults, there's no age limit to song, and no age limit to singing! We carry with us many songs from many traditions and love to pass the power of song to people who are inspired by the written and sung word.

Patchy Sanders lives for the woods and the worlds in between the river and the phoenix. We are skilled leaders and space holders for many different occasions from kids parties to weddings!
