Pentimento Jazz is a repertory company of some of the Bay Area's best jazz musicians playing in trio or quartet combinations headed by drummer/vocalist Mike Bastian. Mike and his musicians deliver perfect swinging music and vocals for weddings, parties, corporate events, benefits and restaurants.
They were fun and played wonderfully. The music really added to our event. Everyone commented about how they were excellent.
Mike and his band are AMAZING!! Can't wait to work with them again.
Mike arrived early followed by his bandmates to set up. They played throughout our event, classy jazz and standards that everyone enjoyed. When it was time for us to give out awards, they discreetly suspended play and came right back to play until the very last person at the party left. We got many compliments for choosing such a great band! WE will hire them again!

Mike and his group were simply wonderful and very accommodating. It was a pleasure having them at my client's event. I would highly recommend them.
We hired them for our elaborate corporate holiday party and they pulled it off very professionally. We requested a couple of off the track pieces and they made it seem effortless. I would definitely hire them again. It was one of the best decisions I have made. Thank you Pentimento Jazz!

As a first timer using Gig Salad I wasn't sure what to expect. But I'm happy to say I was extremely pleased with Pentimento. They were top notch and really brought the party to life. Each member of the trio was an exceptional musician. Highly recommended!

My musicians are San Francisco "first call" musicians i.e. recent bookings: K.D. Lang, Jack Jones, Johnny Mathis etc.
I, personally studied at The Juilliard School and got my "jazz footing" in and around the Big Apple. We play regularly at Palo Alto Grill (on leave until music area is renovated--fall 2014) and monthly at Vin Santo Ristorante in Willow Glen. And of course, we play wineries, corporate events (Apple, Google, Rotary Club) and weddings all the time.
We pride ourselves on professionalism, working well with clients and event planners alike. We are flexible and accommodating with regard to set up and musical requests, timing and attire.
