Philadelphia & District Pipe Band

Colin from Philadelphia & District Pipe Band came out to play at my brother's memorial service. So many things about the day had me stressed, but communicating with Colin was easy and he was there when we got to the cemetery, ready to play. He was well organized, in traditional kilt costume and set my parent's mind at ease with his professionalism and compassion. The birds flying overhead all stopped in the trees to listen as our friends and family said goodbye and the pipes played beautifully. My brother would have loved it, and I like to think he was watching over us. It brought such a peace to us having him play. I highly recommend Philadelphia & District Pipe Band for your event, very special indeed. Thank you so much, we will never forget it.

I can’t say enough good things about Colin. He was incredibly communicative, professional, punctual and kind. He was the best part of a very hard day and fulfilled a request that my dad always wanted at his funeral. His pricing was also the best.

I cannot express how great Colin is! If I could give 100 stars i would! He arrived at the event early enough to get familiar with our Mission for American Cancer Society event and planned music accordingly. He was spot on for our Luminaria Ceremony and even led the participants on a "Reflection Lap". We all instantly hit it off and consider him a friend now. I've a had bagpipers before at this event but Colin in by far the best! We will definitely use him in the future and all events!

When I saw that the forecast for my son's wedding called for rain, I knew I needed something upbeat
and special. Colin's bagpiping fit the bill and then some! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed his classic performance and professionalism. I cannot applaud enough.

Colin was there on time playing out side the church for 5 minutes. He was suppose to come in church and play as he walks up the aisle and plays by photo for 5 minutes and then walk down aisle playing. The Funeral director director told him to just walk up and around and out. I was NOT HAPPY. I paid for this time. I should have gotten up and retreated to the back to discuss the ERROR! I didn't. Colin played taps at the end of the service as requested. I would have had him come up and play at the end of the service next to her photo.

Our Mother and grandparents were born in Scotland and we still have relatives who live in that beautiful country. I arranged for bagpiper for the Phila & District Pipe Band to have a piper serenade at my sister's 80th birthday. Callum was wonderful and so thoughtful!!!!!

The Philadelphia & District Pipe Band were just absolutely amazing helping our OBrien family celebrate our father’s 75th Birthday Surprise!
I would definately recommend them to anyone and everyone if youre looking for amazing entertainment! They are very personable, and reasonably economic affordable. They arrived in a parade like fashion, and made a circle in our back yard and played amazingly well with 6 pipers, 2 drummers, and one base drummer. They had our neighbors even coming over to watch and listen to such a spectacle!
Just can not thank them enough! They even chose to hang around for a bit for social and refreshment.

These men and women were outstanding and professional.

In any event Colin was outstanding, from first communication to chatting with my son about his name and his background after the funeral service. His bagpipe music was beautiful. We had requested a few specific traditional songs , O’Danny ect and he played them beautifully interspersed between our arrival at the burial site and during the internment. We hired Colin to play a few songs as a preludeand Amazing Grace for a memorial we had for my husband's grandfather about a week ago. Colin arrived promptly, dressed as a Scottish bagpiper and was very nice to chat with prior to starting. Colin felt the tone of the event and played beautiful, appropriate for the mellow occasion, Scottish songs that really added to the event.
Amazing Grace was played after the Taps and flag presentation and it was perfect. We have only the best things to say about Colin and the beautiful way he served our family and added a wonderful aspect to our memorial. Thank you!

I hired Colin to play for my father’s funeral service. Colin was so flexible and accommodating since when I hired him we didn’t know yet when the date of the service would be. As my final gift to my father I wanted a bagpiper to play Amazing Grace at his funeral. Amazing Grace was a favorite hymn of his and he always loved the sound of bagpipes. Thank you Colin for helping me give that to my dad by playing so beautifully. It was the perfect ending to his service. I know he was smiling in Heaven as he listened. Hire was for the recessional at my fathers funeral. “Going Home” played on bagpipes was poignantly beautiful and there not a dry eye in the church with close to 200 in attendance. Collin was excellent in delivering the traditional, beautiful sounds of the bagpipes during the wedding event for our daughter. He is a consummate professional, both stoic in his role as well as flexible and creative.
He played the pipes at the conclusion of our wedding mass outside the St. Thomas of Villanova church. He then traveled to our wedding reception at the Ballroom at Ellis Preserve to play outside the venue for the guests as well as leading the guests into the main ballroom for the start of the wedding party introductions. So many of the guests approached us and commented how much they enjoyed his bagpipes and the sound. We recommend highly the specialized talent of Collin for your wedding experience.

Our wedding was beautiful and the drummer and piper put it over the top. They brought tears to everyone's eyes, mine included. Our ceremony was the highlight the wedding, many guests even posted videos and pictures on their social media. We asked the performers to take a picture with them, to save it as a memory. They were so kind, professional and did an amazing job! We are hoping to have the experience of their performance again!

Colin was very easy to work with. He played bagpipes for my husband's burial service. He was in place, looking very good, as we arrived. He played appropriate music while the people left their cars and gathered around the grave. At the conclusion of the service, he played Amazing Grace while the people placed flowers by the remains. He needed no cues on starting or stopping. He just knew what to do and did it. The sound of his bagpipes added a wonderful atmosphere for the service. I would highly recommend Colin.

Colin and his nephew played the bag pipe and drums for our wedding recession on April 8th, 2016 and it was SPECTACULAR! I am soooooo glad I did this surprise gift for my husband and entire wedding guests (no one knew but myself and the priest)!
