I planned a surprise proposal and had Phillip along with a photographer for the proposal. Phillip played an acoustic version of a song that my now Fiancé loves as we approached the spot I’d propose. His timing was perfect, the song and playing were special and afterwards he recommended another staged photo of him playing in the background as we slow danced.
I researched many singers in Chicago, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Louisville and Nashville before I picked the right musician for this special event. I knew from seeing Phillip’s video that he could do it but it was even better in person. By the way when you meet him, he might be the kindest person you meet that day.

Phillip was a joy to have at our corporate valentine's day event in our lobby. He arrived on time, had all of his equipment ready to go a half hour before the event began. He played some wonderful love songs and has a fantastic voice. We will definitely book him again for future events in our building.

Phillip-Michael performed at my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour on 8/24/19. He showed up about 15 minutes earlier than anticipated, and was dressed well. He was incredibly easy to work with, while minimally requesting "power, a chair and water". While he offered to learn a few songs at my request, i asked that he just play music that fit. Phillip-Michael more than exceeded my expectations. I heard rave reviews from my guests, and was asked to forward his contact info over by another friend who will be getting married next year. My only regret is that i didn't get to listen to him more, and i was forced to take pictures before and after! Definitely book this guy for your next event!

This was our second time having Philip-Michael in the Patagonia Lincoln Park shop and it was just as great as the first! He is extremely easy to work with and was able to fit in a gig with us even though he had another one booked for later that evening. He has an amazing voice and can play a wide variety songs that are fitting for all audience members. His enthusiasm and his music were a fantastic addition to our customer appreciation night!

She's not the easiest to please sometimes ;) He was punctual, personable, very professional and incredibly talented, not only as a writer and performer, but he read the audience perfectly and interacted as he saw fit. We were pleasantly surprised how he managed to entertain the teens to the grandparents and in between. We didn't want him to leave! We would highly recommend him for honestly, any function. After a little looking around I choose Phillip and I made the perfect choice.
He went above and beyond to make it perfect. I changed up plans at the last second and he was more the helpful making them happen.
Great voice,funny and a great person. He will already be on top of our list for wedding performer.

I needed a song writer for a party and Phillip-Michael Scales did a spectacular job of revising two original songs I had, plus writing a new one in only 3 days. The pressure was on and he did brilliantly....not only time-wise but talent-wise. I highly recommend him so don't hesitate!

Philip played at my sons first birthday party - not only did he sound amazing, but he played the perfect selections for kids and parents! It was a blast.

Philip is a skilled guitarist and has a great voice with plenty of range. Comfortable and energetic interpretations of familiar songs, he quickly analyzed the crowd of 25 and played excellent selections for a mixed crowd of 60 somethings and 20 somethings. Before the gig he was a great communicator and arrived on time, setup equipment and everything worked perfectly. Very likable. We asked him to add a few of his originals at the end. I had nothing but positive and enthusiastic comments from my guests. Overall, very highly recommended.

Planned a birthday party for the wife, literally the day before, and we couldn't be happier we found him. Briar was like someone you knew long before, yet professional before, during and after the event.

I booked Briar Rabbit as a surprise for my husband's 30th birthday party. My husband love blues and easygoing songwriter style music. Not only did my husband love him, but everyone in attendance was asking where I found him. He added the perfect touch to the party with the right mix of music to keep the party vibes fun and easy. Not only would I hire him again, but I would recommend him to anyone I know looking to break free from the iPod cable and have some good quality music at their gathering.

For my wife's birthday, I threw a cocktail and dinner party at our house for 60 people. To add to the fun and beautiful ambiance for the evening, I had Briar play during the party. Not having ever met nor heard Briars music( just the samples online), all i can say is HE IS AMAZING!!!!!!! The most pitch perfect beautiful voice, strong array of musical genres to play from, and couldn't have been more pleasant and nice. We also had a number of family friends who brought their teenage kids. Briar took the time to play their requests as well as play some of his originals.
