Playback Barbershop Quartet

With just four vocalists and no instruments, we're pretty flexible. If there's room for 4 guys to stand, we can likely perform for you!

We're happy to do 'mingling' type events with close interaction or stage type performances based on your needs. For larger venues a sound system helps (not provided) but we're happy to discuss requirements with you and try find a solution for your needs!

Playback is a relatively new quartet on the Ontario barbershop scene, but if we look familiar, it's for good reason. Playback is a new quartet made from old combinations: Lee and Kevin founded Test Drive (2014 Ontario Champions) together, Jean and Lee founded Nitro (2008 Ontario Champions) together... and Mike... well Mike is new to Ontario.

This foursome previously represented Ontario and Canada at the World Championships as Test Drive in 2017 before becoming Playback in the summer of 2017.

We take our art seriously, but don't like to take ourselves too seriously. We love to sing swing era tunes, but also like anything that we find entertaining or fun. Whether it's classic Frank, Ella and Nat tunes, some Mamas and the Papas, or even with a little Paul McCartney and Wings, we're sure that we'll be able to thrill your audiences with some fantastic vocal music.
