Our nonprofit, Young Invincibles, hired Ralonda to emcee our yearly gala. Ralonda was amazing and met with us a couple of times over Zoom and in person to ensure we were all on the same page and well-prepared for the event. Not only did Ralonda do a fabulous job at emceeing, she also provided custom spoken word during our event! Highly recommend Ralonda for your next event.
Ralonda arrived early for the event to check in and was open to questions about her art/poetry. She shared numerous poems she wrote that held a range of emotions and truth. Highly recommended spoken word artist.

I show up early to perform my poetry or a speech based on a theme (if agreed on prior to engagement).
The audience can expect poetry in almost any theme.
Ralonda Simmons is a spoken word poet, singer, and sometime actress who was born in CA, but has lived in Colorado for so long that she's long-accepted being from here. She has performed at the Denver Center of Performing Arts as a part of the popular dramatic poetry experience, "How I Got Over." She has also been featured at Freedom of Speech, House of Poetry, and DCPA's Mixed Taste, and Punketry. Ralonda was also a part of the best all-female hip-hop cover group, Lady Wu-Tang, and has performed with Raekwon and Ghostface Killah (it's true).
To give back, she has also been a frequent guest poet for youth writing classes with Art from Ashes, taught young writers at Lighthouse Writers Workshop, and serves as a Colorado board representative for Poetry for Personal Power.
Ralonda is an example of a life saved by poetry, a life that could have gone anywhere. She's grateful that it landed her here with you, today.
Sound is most important - give time for a mic check and for adjustments, if needed.
If I am to perform over music, please make sure the mic is loud enough for the audience to hear the poems.
