Polkawagen always brings the fun all-year-round with family-friendly entertainment and their characteristic mixture of polka party music — a stockpile of instrumental folk classics, popular sing-along songs (sung in English and German), and audience participation tunes.
Each celebration and event is customized to your specific entertainment needs, with special attention given to the number of attendees, age group, venue size, volume requirements, and budget.
Whatever the composition, Polkawagen is prepared to entertain anywhere from a small intimate party celebration in your home to a sizable outdoor Maifest, Oktoberfest, or Wurstfest themed event.
The husband and wife team of Bart & Liesa Elliott formed Polkawagen back in 2018 as a way to explore and share their love of the music from their Bohemian/Czech and German/Bavarian heritage.
Polkawagen's music instrumentation includes accordion, keyboards, drums, percussion, glockenspiel, and vocals (in English and German).
The performance and/or staging area should be a minimum of 15' wide by 10' deep, with access to electricity nearby. The band travels with a small sound system for all performances; used for monitoring, backing tracks, and sound reinforcement in enclosed indoor/outdoor venues.
Outdoor performances, large or small, also requires the following:
1) Flat, level area to set-up and perform on. A stage is recommended if playing for large crowds.
2) Shade and cover over the performance area — protecting our instruments (and us) from rain and direct sunlight. This can be a tent, and if rain isn't in the forecast, a shaded area by trees. Our music instruments can not tolerate direct sunlight for any length of time.
3) If the performance will be in the evening, stage lighting will need to be provided.
For an additional fee, the band can supply its own 15x10 tent and lighting.
