Not your usual cover band -- PFB plays songs with a fresh spin. For over 8 years, PFB has been playing clubs and events, from small venues to large Oktoberfest events for thousands of people! We love music, people, and events, and strive to have everyone entertained and happy at the show!

I was the appointed "party planner" for my sister's birthday party this year - she just turned 50 so we wanted to do something special. We hired PoppaFunkBand for some live music and they were great! We went with their duo option - I figured this would be best vibe for the afternoon party. Chris and Robin arrived early enough to set up and be ready right on time. They played happy birthday of course - along with a whole range of covers in their own bluesy soulful style. They encouraged the crowd to sing along - which was really fun for our group of family and friends who were all different ages - from kids to grandparents. Thanks to this band our party was a unique and exciting experience. I highly recommend them!

We have the best experience with Poppa Funk Band. They totally brought the funk to our Saturday Night Fever birthday party. We rented an event space in Manhattan, they arrived early to set up and played 4 sets through the night. The music was amazing, the band was so much fun - a great mix of respectful and pleasant but alway willing to draw a crowd and shout out the birthday girls. I would recommend them to anyone and hope to see them live again. They covered all the best songs, took request and rocked the house! The party would not have been anywhere as good without them!

PFB emulates the high energy funk of James Brown, the New Orleans Funk of the Neville Brothers, the soul of Stevie Wonder, disco funk vibes with Nile Rogers and CHIC, with nods to Blues Greats such as Freddie King and Eric Clapton. Expect to hear dance friendly songs that will make anyone want to dance!
PFB can then also dial it back for a more jazz and blues vibe. Expect great musicianship and fun improvisational moments, and encouragement for the crowd to participate and sing along!
PoppaFunkBand has been active on the New York City music scene for over 5 years, playing clubs regularly in Greenwich Village, and many Oktoberfests at beer garden events.
PFB is a dual-fronted cover band. Robin on vocals can be powerful like Aretha or Donna Summer, or laid back and jazzy like Corrine Bailey Rae. Chris "CC Thane" on guitar and vocals has been a performer with NYC reggae legend Ossie Dellimore, and has previously been on the same bill as Majek Fashek and Damian Marley.
The customer is always put first! We are very willing to work with you on your event no matter how large or small. We are truthfully looking forward to working with you to make your event memorable and lots of fun!
