Port City Shakedown were incredible! They were so easy to work with and played songs back to back! My friends and family never left the dance floor. We were hesitant at first, but after seeing their videos, it was worth every penny to have a live music band on stage. And these guys are the best at what they do. We could not have been more happy with Port City Shakedown! They were on time, professional, catered to all of our requests, and BROUGHT THE PARTY to our reception. As a musician myself, this band is absolutely dialed in...tight, fantastic sound quality, and great stage presence. From even the early stages of the planning process, Tim was great to work with. The google docs interface made it easy to plan out our reception and even allowed us to select our favorite songs. The energy they provided to MC our introductions/entire reception was perfect, and was overall very well organized. Our wedding ceremony featured a vocalist with a string quartet and Tim was able to provide audio equipment to meet our vocalists needs as well as mic our officiant. Overall, we had a great experience with Port City Shakedown and would highly recommend them to anyone!

Tim and his band were absolutely fantastic! During the planning process, they were very responsive, which made scheduling a breeze. They were incredibly flexible and quickly jumped in to help with an unplanned music need during the ceremony. The band even let the groom get up on stage and “jam” to Brown Eyed Girl. We felt that their only priority was making our day as special as it could be. Our guests still talk about how great the music was at the reception. Thanks Port City Shakedown!

Tim and his band members were a joy to work with. Our venue (Crystal Pier and Oceanic Restaurant) on Wrightsville Beach, was a bit of a logistical challenge but they figured it out with no problem. As soon as they started playing at the reception, our guests hit the dance floor and never stopped! Even over a month later, our guests are still raving about Port City Shakedown! They are THE BEST band in the South!

The group was very easy to contact, book, and secure. They made sure to play our top songs! Everyone danced all night long and we did not want the music to stop! Great vocalists and musicians. 10/10 recommend! People are still talking about how amazing they were months later!

Port City Shakedown definitely made our reception the blast that it was, and they were such a pleasure to work with. They were extremely organized and made the planning and choosing of the set list so easy. I don't think our guests left the dance floor all night! We hired Port City Shakedown to play at my husband's 40th birthday party. They were AMAZING!! They played a big variety of songs that were all executed perfectly. The vocals and musicians were really impressive. Our party guests had a blast and all loved the band. We all danced like we haven't in ages. Awesome band with great talent, humor, and flexibility. We were so glad we added an extra horn! They even did one of our requested songs 100% on the horn and it was beautiful. We requested they get everyone to do a congo line and it was a blast! Would definitely recommend them to anyone in NC or surround areas.

On May 4, 2019. I previously reviewed this band and said how amazing they were, but I got back from my honeymoon and people told me port city shake down ruined them for weddings because they were that amazing. I felt like I was partial to them because it was my wedding but all of our guests went on and on about how awesome this band was. I cannot put into words how great this band was for my wedding. My 85 year old grand parents were out on the floor talking about how this was the best band they had heard in years. The whole band was exceptional. From the singing to the musicians to the band walking out on the floor with horns. This band is special. If you are celebrating with a band you need to book them. I can’t wait to follow them at their different events in the future.

We actually realized last minute we had not chosen to have the band play our first dance songs and they learned all 3 without any hesitation. This band read the crowd and kept the party going. Family and friends who regularly refuse to dance, were out on the dance floor having the best time. They were wonderful to my husband and me and all of our guests. They were also so organized and reliable when planning for the reception with them. They made all the details easy, and their performance was unforgettable. We have had this crew at our company christmas party 2 years in a row. I have been personally trying to marry all of my friends off just for a reason to hire them again. They make it so nothing matters about the party but the size of the dance floor.

Being a non-profit organization in New Hanover County, Port City Shakedown performed for our biggest fundraiser of the year. They did not disappoint, they brought the house down! They were great with the crowd which was over 400 people. They sounded terrific had great energy, and got the crowd dancing! We especially loved the addition of the horns. I would recommend them for a party or wedding.

Port City Shakedown performed at our October 2018 wedding in Wilmington and they ROCKED IT!! Not only were they amazing live, with a great selection of current and older songs, but they were also extremely professional and responsive in the weeks leading up to our wedding (as we dealt with some last minute changes caused by Hurricane Michael.) We were a bit (but only a bit) skeptical since we booked them without ever seeing them in person, but we all had the BEST time and our guests were commenting for the rest of the weekend about how awesome our wedding band was. I think everyone was sad when the wedding ended... if it were up to us we would've kept dancing into the wee hours of the morning. :) I would definitely recommend Port City Shakedown to anyone looking for a lively band that will keep the party going! I honestly didnt think we could afford a 6 piece band and didnt get a quote right out of the gate from them. Fortunately, I decided to check and see and I was able to fit them into the tight budget I was working with. They did an amazing job and the event of over 150 people all really enjoyed their music and personalities.

Port City Shakedown provided all of the narration and entertainment for our wedding and we couldn't have been more pleased with the service they provided. From the first dance to the last dance, the music was incredible and the dance floor was packed. Every song was a crowd favorite. They even let the wedding party join in with tambourines! These guys know how to read a crowd, play the right music and keep guests dancing! They were able to switch songs in live time and even had my "I don't dance" guests up and grooving. They were absolutely incredible and I would recommend them to anyone having any kind of an event! You will not be disappointed with this group. We ended up choosing horns to play as well, and it really set the band off. I want to get married all over just so I can hire these guys again!

We LOVED this band! I was skeptical at first but my now-husband insisted a band would make our reception spectacular - and he was right! The band was put together, easy to work with, so fun and rolled with our changes and suggestions. Wedding band – Port City Shakedown provided the cocktail hour and reception music and MC’ing for our wedding this past weekend, and they were absolutely phenomenal! We had heard good things about them in advance, and they 100% lived up to the hype. They were high energy and kept everyone dancing all night long! No one ever seemed to leave the dance floor, even between band sets when they were just DJ’ing. Their set lists were upbeat and the perfect mix of funk, new dance hits, and a few slow songs sprinkled in. Each of the musicians/singers in the group are the cream of the crop and make a truly awesome super band all together! They also provided the MC’ing for introductions and toasts, during the bouquet toss and cake cutting, and they were perfect! Funny and enthusiastic, while moving the evening along exactly as it should. Finally, they provided the microphones and speakers for the ceremony, and they worked as expected. We (and all of our guests) would highly recommend them for any event (and are already planning the next time we can hire them again)! Thanks Port City Shakedown!

I have seen this band many times and always love them. Recently, we had them perform for our middle school students for an arts festival. Teachers and students both enjoyed them!

Seriously, these guys are so awesome. We rented them for our wedding and could not have been happier. They are extremely personable and easy to deal with. They played songs that had everyone dancing, and they will tailor what they play to what you want. They even learned a couple songs for our first dance and the bride-father song. We saw them play at Wild Wing Cafe before our wedding just to make sure they were what we wanted, and after hearing them play two songs we knew they were the band for us. They are at a very reasonable price point and we couldn't have been happier. We had so many people tell us how much they loved the band!

Port City Shakedown is by far the best bend this city (or any surrounding one) has to offer. We went to see them perform several times before booking them and every time was a blast. They helped make our wedding truly amazing. The dance floor was packed all night and everyone couldn't get over how good they were. I still get compliments about them.

Heard PCS a few times locally and decided to book them for a surprise party. They were fantastic! I have had countless guests who had never heard them before just rave about how great they were. Great musicians and vocalists - play all kinds of music. They are absolutely the perfect party band.

It's so wonderful to hear from all your guests that your wedding is one of the best they've ever been to! Even after last call my guests were screaming for an ENCORE! We danced the night away to the best selection of current top 40, 80s, 90s, and classic. There's nothing this band can't do! Such a pleasure to deal with as well, they are so customer oriented and go above and beyond to make your event special. We had such a blast! One of the best moments during the reception was when my husband leaned over and whispered to me "Port City was definitely the best investment of the whole entire wedding." I am not much of a dancer, but when I heard this band for the first time at a local restaurant at Ocean Isle Beach, I danced beside our booth the entire time they played. As soon as our daughter became engaged a year later, I immediately contacted Tim and crossed my fingers he would agree to bring the band to Bald Head Island to play for her wedding reception. There were lots of details to work out but Tim was prompt, professional and a pleasure to work with. The lead singer, Matt, has a great way of drawing in the guests and everyone was dancing the entire time! The song list this band has is amazing and they will have guests from 2 to 92 on their feet! The band has a great website that will give you all the information you need. But their popularity is spreading fast, so book early! I've referred them to two mothers of the bride just in the past week. I promise you this band will not disappoint and will make your event a huge success!

Port City Shakedown is UNBELIEVABLE! They made my wedding a huge success! All of my guests have been asking about them! This six-piece band is the way to go! They had the crowd dancing, singing and loving every minute of the night! When a summer thunderstorm popped up on the horizon they set up the DJ inside for the cocktail hour and waited out the rain. When things dried up they set up in a quarter of their normal time and were jamming out as soon as the ceremony was done. They played the first dance, father daughter and mother son songs they learned for us and said, “No more slow songs, lets party!” That’s exactly what happened! I can’t wait to see them at one of the venues they play in Wilmington the next time I am in town. They are phenomenal and easily the best price in town!
