I write custom poems on the spot with a vintage typewriter for anyone with a topic! Just give me a word, subject or a brief story and you will receive a one of a kind typewritten poem that is yours to keep. Be it hilarious or tearfully touching, the interaction makes the poem, and talking to strangers is my specialty. Poems make wonderful momentos or gifts for those you love. Book a typewriter poet today!
Grannia (Possible Poetry) was amazing! If you have a quick moment please review why we chose her services!
- I personally love Poetry, the old vintage style type writers, a more personalized experience.
- Our event: a wedding
- We were looking for something different and interactive for our guests. We wanted our guests to take something unique home with them - custom art for all!
- It was a hit! Everyone loved the experience and Grannia was amazing. She took the time to get to know each guest who sat with her, writing unique poems and having fun with them.
- She worked beautifully with me, our wedding coordinator and communicated throughout the entire process. She is a must hire! You and your guest will love the experience! Also don't think of her for just weddings - keep her in mind for any events you may have that you want to add a unique flare too. Our guest are still talking about the experience!
Price Range: $100/150 an hour, depending on event details.
First, the reader approaches the poet and has a short interaction, lasting 5-15 minutes, about what they would like the content of their poem to be about. The poet then begins typing an improvised poem based on their interaction, and may ask for more information during the process. When finished, the poet performs the poem out loud, signs and hands it off to the reader for them to keep!
I began typing poems for strangers on the streets of the French Quarter in 2018. The decision to take my typewriter out and talk to passersby has changed my life for the better, forever. This performance is a combination between intuitive “dry reading” of a person, speed therapy, and stand up comedy. It is both an exercise in writing and interpersonal connection. The poems all have a piece of the person it’s for in them, and are all truly one of a kind.
