The pianist was a great musician, a friendly person, and sensitive to my needs. He really made my father's memorial service beautiful.

Matthew was a total pro and super flexible. The playlist was exactly what we were looking for and the trio did a great job. My client was so pleased - Prelude Productions was definitely one of the highlights of the cocktail party. Totally impressed all around!

Response from Prelude Productions:
Thank you Philip! It was wonderful to be part of your great evening!
I recently hired Prelude Production for a Garden Cocktail party that required latin jazz music. I booked this band w Matthew who was extremely accommodating, professional and prompt with replies, setup and every little detail. The 3-piece band literally was a hit. They looked great and came dressed in theme for my party (their suggestion:) played classical jazz, latin jazz, etc. I have very discerning taste and truly can appreciate real music (in-pocket, seamless, rhythm, flow, etc.) and these guys are world class musicians who are often touring w. renowned artists. I will hire them for my next party without hesitation.

About
Comprised of seasoned luminaries based in New York City and North Carolina, Prelude Productions offers a variety of ensemble sizes for all of your jazz needs. Solo, duo, trio, quartet or vocal groups can be tailored to your specific requests. Our musicians have performed world-wide with the greatest living jazz legends, and each holds a degree from institutions such as The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music and Berklee College of Music.
For programming, we work hard to provide variety within even basic genre choices. For example, with a set of music from the American Songbook, we will choose songs in an order that provides interest in tempo, feel, and even key centers so that listeners can feel a sense of movement, even on a very subtle level.
While each musician in Prelude Productions performs at the highest level of musicianship, we all understand that most often our role is secondary in a cocktail hour or corporate function. We are happy to be sensitive to volume and physical space issues, and we are readily aware that we are an addition to your event, not necessarily the main attraction.
Our goal at Prelude Productions is to provide you with the greatest sense of ease regarding your event music. With just a simple consultation, we can create a beautiful addition to any special day.

"Prelude Productions led by Matthew Rybicki played my wedding on Labor Day Sunday, and wow, they were awesome. My husband and I wanted a jazz band with the range to play a some Rock, R&B and Pop as well. We auditioned several bands and Matt's group really impressed us. They also had unbelievable flexibility. They had a guitarist accompany our ceremony and had additional band members come later in the evening as they transitioned from their superb jazz repertoire. Working with Matt in planning the music program was a pure delight. He was seemingly always available, very responsive and had great suggestions. He also was very accommodating. The wedding performance itself was just great. They are a very talented and professional jazz group. They played an excellent jazz set during our cocktail hour and then another during the dinner. After dinner they moved toward more danceable music with terrific variety. Their lead singer is a real talent. Her range is impressive. There are not too many singers that can pull off Adele, but she is more than up to the task and then some. Our guests are still complimenting us on our band selection. Their rates were very reasonable making them not only a great band, but a terrific value as well. We couldn't recommend them more highly." - Adi Haller, August 2012
"Dear Matt, We want to thank you and your entire ensemble for the awesome live jazz during our wedding cocktail hour at Addison Park! Our guests were absolutely floored and they loved the music. We go so many compliments on the live music you guys played and you may even get some referrals. Thank you for entertaining our guests! Best Wishes." - Gijoy & Purvi, February 2014
Additional Booking Notes
We normally have no technical requirements besides access to a normal electrical outlet, unless the event requires a much bigger ensemble than a trio or quartet/quintet. We bring everything and take everything away - no worries about providing equipment for us!

Influences & Inspiration
We all have spent years studying the music of many artistic masters such as Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong and many, many more. It is our solemn responsibility to be as well-versed in the lineage of jazz as we can be and do our best to play with excellence in the tradition of these masters.
You can expect to hear songs from the artists mentioned above as well as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Thelonious Monk, and many others.
Setup Requirements
No items are required unless the event calls for an unconventional ensemble size. A real piano is preferred if available at the space.
