What to Expect
Since we pride ourselves on service, our clients can expect quick response to questions, thoughtful suggestions when asked for based on over 2,500 events. Attention to detail and client's particular taste in music. Professional contract process. Our clients have the expectation that who they audition or see at an event will be the band that appears at their event. Our clients can expect the band to be set up before their guests arrive, dressed in appropriate attire (usually suits, no ties). Pressure Point clients can expect that the band will perform music with the "something for everyone" approach that has proven successful for 30 years! Of, course we can tailor the repertoire to fit our client's taste. The band takes requests,if appropriate. Typically 45 minute sets with a 15 minute break as our DJ takes over for that portion. I will always make myself available for face to face meeting or phone consultation.
About
Pressure Point has been the Portland/Seattle area’s most asked for cover band over the past 15 years! Pressure Point is also first call for most of the venues and event coordinators in Central Oregon. The band’s repertoire is unmatched in terms of versatility and polish. The Pressure Point Band covers music spanning seven decades, satisfying musical tastes from nearly all age groups. With the Pressure Point Band you get the experience of talented veteran performers who combine professionalism, enthusiasm with a high level of musicality, to create an atmosphere of fun and excitement that will make your function an event to remember! The band boasts some of Portland’s best musicians and one current Oregon Hall of Fame member! The better musicians in Portland view Pressure Point as the Gold Standard on the wedding and private party scene! The fact that so many event coordinators, venues, private club management hire and recommend Pressure Point for their own events and valued clients, speaks volumes about the work that Pressure Point has done in the past and continues to do. Pressure Point plays all of our music live and doesn't rely on any pre recorded tracks as do some of our competitors (see Design Band, Hit Machine). Pressure Point is built around several lead vocalists so no one voice dominates the performance. We are blessed with a wealth of vocal riches that none of our competition can really match. Another important point is that the core of our band has been together for nearly 18 years. This continuity differs dramatically from “bands” from Blue Wave where musicians may actually be meeting for the first time with very mixed results. Based on first hand accounts from musicians that I know who have performed with these “throw together” units, the results have gone from great to disaster. Why roll the dice with your event?
Here is a recent endorsement from an event professional located in Central Oregon. This is typical but we never tire of hearing it!
" Mike Winkle and Pressure Point are our first call when a client wants a live band. We love the wide range of music that Pressure Point can provide, and we especially love how they can work the crowd! Weddings, Corporate clients, and Non-profit galas in Central Oregon have all been wowed by Pressure Point, and we will be inviting them back as often as possible!"

Additional Booking Notes
We work best with 12'X16' space, elevated or not. We require access to power at the stage or space. Typically a couple of separate 15 amp circuits or even a single 20 amp circuit. We bring our own sound, lighting, amps and instruments unless otherwise negotiated. Some festivals and venues have sound systems and techs on site.
Services Offered
Set List
We draw from so many genres and our events typically go from ceremony, cocktails, dinner and then dance. I never bring a set list but prefer to play to the folks that are in front of us. No two events are exactly the same. We play many of the current dance hits along with the best of the 60's to now. Of course, we play the songs that most of our competitors play as that is expected, but what we fill around those almost "mandatory" songs are songs that are more reflective of the unique abilities of our band members. Send us an inquiry and I will send you the current song list!
Influences & Inspiration
The band is comprised of folks from a couple different generations, so the influences are varied. The older members might cite The Beatles, Earth Wind and Fire, Van Morrison, Aretha, Motown, Marvin Gaye, Sinatra among others. The younger members might cite The Police, Madonna, Journey, Michael Jackson, Sade among others. There are not really any contemporary artists that really influence us at this point, although many of them are great and we enjoy performing their music! We are pretty much fully "formed" at this stage but always with an ear to something new and cool that we can use.
Setup Requirements
We provide our own sound, lighting and other equipment.
