Overview
I like to start with an initial consultation so we can get to know each other better. If we both feel that I would be an asset for your event, I would love to be your DJ! Otherwise, I can recommend someone else on our team who may be a better fit for you.
I have specialized in being a DJ and Emcee for years, earning an A+ rating with the BBB as well as a 5-star rating on many sites, including WeddingWire, The Knot, and Google. I DJ events for all age ranges so I'm knowledgable in all types of music, giving me the ability to read any type of crowd. I also bring years of technical expertise to make sure you receive the best sound and lighting coverage for your event space.

D.K. was easy and fun to work with and very responsive to our needs before and during the event. He incorporated our requests for music and games, and expertly anticipated the DJing needs of our guests so that we did not have to. This was exactly what we needed and allowed us to tend to other aspects of the event. Everyone was dancing and participating until the end.

DK stepped in at the VERY last minute to DJ/emcee our company Christmas party in 2023 and we loved him so much that we hired him for our annual Open House! We plan to use him for all our future Open House events from here on out. He picks great music, runs the show with or without a script, and really makes it easy on the rest of us to not have to worry about having music/announcement/etc. prepared when we are trying to enjoy our event. He's great!

Our guests complimented DK all night and days after. His planning call and attention to detail helped us think through things we did not even think about, even for non-music things. He was an amazing coordinator and DJ that made the day flawless. We were not anticipating our guests to be a dancing crowd, but DK made everyone want to dance -- even my parents! Everyone had such a great time because he went around to include every table's song requests. What to Expect
My standard services include me as your DJ and Emcee, with an extensive music library and a professional sound system with a wireless microphone. In some cases, I also allow each couple to mix and match some additional services such as lighting, karaoke, ceremony sound system, etc, for no additional charge. Planning sessions leading up to your event, the time to drive to and from, and the time to set up and tear down are all included. I do not charge extra for that or for sales tax :)
I am always happy to set up a time for a quick call or Zoom meeting if you'd like to talk in person.
About
From an early age, D.K. Erickson had an instinctive love for music and equipment. Growing up he hung out at Radio Shack like it was an arcade. His parents also let him string a couple of speakers out into the hallway from his bedroom so he could play music for them. From there his love of music and public entertaining only continued to grow.
He took that passion and volunteered for a local college radio station that eventually led to a paid job at the #1 rated station in his hometown. Almost simultaneously he started spinning tunes as a mobile DJ at school dances. He loved it so much that he eventually started his own DJ company.
Throughout the years his career took him to larger and larger markets working for bigger radio stations while continuing to DJ private events on the side. During that time he worked for Top 40, Country, Rock, Old School, and Adult Contemporary radio stations broadening his eclectic music repertoire event further.
Eventually, D.K. started a family and instead of moving from city to city, he and his wife made the decision to stop the pursuit of radio and work full-time for themselves running the DJ business. They never looked back and are proud of the business’s reputation and the life that they have built.

Services Offered
Set List
There really is no "typical" setlist. The music I play varies greatly from event to event. For example, the age and backgrounds of each group that I perform for. I am an eclectic DJ that plays a wide variety of decades and genres. I tailor the music set based on each event that I am hired for.
Setup Requirements
I provide all requested equipment and supplies. I will need access to the venue before the start of your event to set up.
I also will need time after the conclusion of your event to pack up. The time it takes to set up and tear down varies pending on each venue and how much equipment is needed.
The average foot print for my set up is 8' x 10' but this can change depending on what you need.
