I am a professional, classically trained pianist with over 20 years of performing experience, including dinner parties, weddings, funerals, birthdays, working with choirs, solo/ensemble contests, juries, other instrumental and vocal soloists, and more. I love what I do and I'm good at it.

If you hire me for piano gig, you'll get evidence that I have effective practice habits and always aim for a top notch performance. If you're in a band and need a keyboardist, you'll also see that I can work quite well with other instrumentalists and have tons of experience following others and taking cues in a group. If you need an original song or arrangement done, you'll get a highly develop creative side of me that, to be honest, is pretty unique. I try to stay humble, but I also have a pretty good balance of humility and confidence. I know how good I am at what I do and you will never be disappointed with my best efforts. No matter what you hire me for, you'll always get punctuality, integrity and honesty.
I grew up in Western Colorado, served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ontario, Canada and lived in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada for ten years with an amazing but very sick first wife. I was her caretaker while I was up there and when Lorraine passed away in 2019, God brought me back down here to Utah. I have been playing piano for 27 years and can play at a concert pianist level. I was classically trained by a fantastic teacher for 10 years and started playing when I was a young child. There's not much I can't do a piano today :). I am also a composer and arranger and have quite a few original works. I do weddings, funerals, juries, dinner parties solo/ensemble contest or others such events where a vocalist or other instrumentalist needs a pianist for their performance.
I am the host of the Stepping Into Freedom podcast, which you can find on almost any podcast platform. It's For members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or those interested in a Latter-day Saint perspective of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The goal in each episode is to identify how Christ sets us free as we live different parts of His gospel.
I also have a blog, love musical and gospel scholarship, and I'm a huge Marvel nerd (especially Spider-man).
The first thing anyone who contracts me as a performer needs to know is that I do prefer an acoustic piano to play. From many years of experience I can tell you that any kind of non-acoustic keyboard will mess with a pianists muscle memory over time. It's not an absolute requirement, of course because it can obviously be difficult to get an acoustic piano to many locations if there isn't already one there.
I need at least a week's notice for any performance gig.
For teaching, I provide a healthy combination of theoretical work (pencil and paper), technical (scales and other warmups) and performance skills. Lessons will always (ALWAYS) start with warmups. Depending on skill level, this will include but not limited to scales, blocked and broken chord exercises, arpeggios followed repertoire which will include many different styles of common practice period music. Whether you are just beginning or already know some piano. I can help you :)
**I am willing to travel anywhere in Lehi, American Fork, Orem or Provo. Online lessons are available as well.
**First lesson is 1/2 price!
For composing and arranging.
I love putting music to poetry/lyrics, compose original pieces (with or w/o lyrics), arrange music for piano scores and more. Even if you just want sheet music for something your heard on the radio that you can't find online or want a more advanced or simplified version of music you already have, I can help!
