Rachel & Ashar

Ashar and Rachel dabble in a variety of genres, and time periods. Performances are curated according to the tone of the event, but you can expect to hear classics as well as contemporary covers, some originals and world music.

Rachel & Ashar are a musical duo bringing a blend of Eastern and Western influences to Vancouver's music scene.

Rachel's work as a featured artist on Coke Studio as well as backing vocals for 200+ songs on the show have earned her widespread acclaim. Her performance style draws on multiple influences as well as her acting and musical theatre background.

Ashar, a multi-instrumentalist involved in diverse music projects like Mausiki, Alchemy Chamber, SurTaal and others, complements Rachel with his guitars and vocals.

Together, they create a rich, acoustic experience, punctuated by playful elements like Rachel’s kazoo solos, vocal harmonies and Ashar’s harmonica interludes.
