An edgy Southern Belle with Wit, Funk and Charm. All wrapped up in a candy-coated package dripping with glitter and soul power!
I have a knack for bridging the gaps between the worlds of hip hop, fashion, socio-cultural affairs, and personal experiences (which may or may not include southern upbringing, nerdy nuances of self, obsession with Michael Jackson, near death episodes, etc.)
Experience: one-woman show, fashion events, live showcases, conferences, dance battles/parties and weddings.
Testimonial: Mic Murphy (Music Artist/Producer) "Rachel brought effervescence and style to our affair. She was enjoyed by all and MC'd with originality & ease. She made all our guests feel welcome."

I AM NOT WHAT YOU EXPECT AND EVERYTHING THAT YOU WOULD EXPECT.
I'M A PISCES. That should explain the sentence above.
I WAS BAPTIZED IN THE FUNK.
I WANT TO BE DIANA ROSS WHEN I GROW UP.
RATED R = Rated "R"achel for clean content :)
I also mix multimedia (social media, music/video) with other forms of expression (dance, freestyle, rapping, singing) with comedy and improv.
Miss Jackson debuted as a standup comedienne in 2008 after years of studying Carol Burnett, Monty Python, Bill Cosby, and Flip Wilson (basically the whole Nick at Nite line up). She experienced early success on her college campus and throughout the state, landing her the opportunity to open for comedian Dat Phan. That success fueled her desire to cultivate her other passion for music and especially Hip Hop Dance. Baptized in the funk, she rooted herself in streets styles including locking, rocking, party dance, popping and breaking. She is an active member of the NYC dance community and the street dance company, The Healing Movement.
CURRENTLY, she and her team is producing her own one-woman show, RAWr: A variety show for the post-modern hip hop generation. Every show delivers fresh and original content to innovate the old format by bringing hip hop to the forefront, not just as a complement, but a vehicle for laughter. Rachel created RAWr to be a new way to prompt discourse, thought and an inner dialogue in her audience about the socio-politics of living in 21st century ("post-racial") America from the most unlikely public enemy number one: a young educated woman of color.
I usually do not like to stay on stage. Unless the venue/physical environment or event demands it. I am a very dynamic and mobile performer. I am often found mixing and mingling with the crowd during the performance.
I also, need a good sound system and perhaps access to the DJ, projector screen or wifi depending on the tone and character of the event.
Good lighting - at least a spotlight is preferable.
