Randy Kemp Trio

Well, this really depends on the type of service provided;

JAZZ: Usually the standard trio doesn't need a lot of amplification and equipment, even in a large ballroom. Randy's selections are mainly inspired by post-bop pianist Bill Evans such as "My Romance", "Bill's Bounce", "Alice in Wonderland", "Someday My Prince Will Come", etc. In addition to performing instrumentals, Randy frequently sings standards made famous by such notables as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Tennessee Ford, Dean Martin and the like. The Randy Kemp trio has even played themed events where, for example, only 40's or 30's music was covered. The trio also has reharmonized popular songs into a jazz setting by performers like Nirvana, Bruno Mars, Stevie Wonder, Ben Folds and Blink 182. It is important to understand that we cannot cover horn songs (ie Tower of Power or Earth Wind and Fire) without at least two horn players. Also thrown in for good measure are latin and shuffle tunes like, "Girl From Ipanema" and "Watermelon Man".

ROCK/POP: If desired we can cover a specific decade of pop, or even learn a song list of your choice. Our repertoire includes songs from artists like; Eric Clapton, Billy Joel, Elton John, Bruno Mars, Elvis, Nirvana, Stevie Wonder, Doobie Brothers, Pink Floyd and more. Depending on the songs requested there may be additional pieces (instruments) needed.

Randy Kemp is an accomplished vocalist, pianist, saxophonist and music producer. Recently his studio project The Weather Service has released a few different jazz albums, which range from originals to covers of pop songs. The Randy Kemp Trio has performed all over the country for weddings, corporate events, fairs, government events, and more.

Primarily, Randy performs jazz with his trio at weddings, corporate events, holiday and family parties.
Randy has a small network of musicians that can handle any job.
