Overview
The Ranger Jack Show is a super fun "interactive" music & puppet experience! Ranger Jack is a one man band and puppeteer performing now in So. Cal. for birthdays, schools, libraries, and special events. Engaging his audience with a fun and educational performance of children's songs on piano and guitar, Ranger Jack greatly involves the children as they interact and sing along. Then his hilarious plush animal puppets simply steal the show! Ranger Jack’s preschool, K-6, and family programs are highly interactive, fun and educational. Many themes and different programs for any age (1-12). Or a family show! And ask about an all music pre-show, roaming animal puppets, or a combo.

Ranger Jack was a pleasure to work with. From the first phone call leading up to the birthday performance at my son's 4-year birthday party, Ranger Jack was always professional, responsive, flexible, and engaging. His performance and interaction with both the children and parents were phenomenal and fun. I was concerned that the children might lose interest and focus during the show, but Jack kept them moving and entertained the whole way through. Everyone simply enjoyed the singing and dancing along with the entertainer. I highly recommend and appreciate Ranger Jack.

We were so pleased and thrilled to have Ranger Jack perform for our library's monthly family story time. Ranger Jack was very professional and showed up well before the performance time to set up his equipment.
During the performance the interaction between Ranger Jack and the children was amazing! The children were so engaged by the music and the interactive songs were appropriate for all ages. Our story time ranges from birth to 6th graders and all of them were having a great time! We are already looking forward to having Ranger Jack back again!

Response from RANGER JACK's Music & Puppet Show:
Thank you so much, Sam!
Ranger Jack was wonderful to work with, start to finish! Very responsive, excellent show with fun music, puppets, stories, and movement for my son’s birthday party (ages 1-5). Best of all, we were able to pull this off COVID-compliant! He performed for our small backyard party, 12 feet away, wearing a face shield, with his own PA system. The show was engaging and fun even with these safety adjustments.

We had the pleasure of coming across Ranger Jack online a few years ago as we searched for a performer during our “travel/camping” summer week. We have children ages 2-10 in our center and I must say they ALL enjoyed his performance. His music entertains and his humor is a great fit for us all. We love Ranger Jack and will continue to have him over as one of our favorite summer visitors. Thank you!

Ranger Jack performed at my house for my son's 4th birthday. His niche is definitely 3-6 years of age and kids those ages LOVED the performance. I loved hearing the laughter and seeing the kids engaged for the 45 minute act. The puppets were definitely a favorite!

The library summer program that he did was awesome. He warmed the kids up, got them all engaged and kept them entertained! It was a tough crowd with such a wide age range (baby to pre-teen) but he did a great job. Music, puppets, dancing! My 5 year old was still talking about it the next morning at breakfast.

During the performance, Ranger Jack stimulated the children to interact with him. His engagement got the kids moving and dancing. There were plenty of smiles on all the little faces during the entire performance. Although he did his performance in a gymnastics gym setting, he kept the attention of the kids for the entire time. Ranger Jack's performance is unique and would be a great option as party entertainment!

Ranger Jack brought his music-filled show to the National City Public Library and entertained a crowd of 65 ranging in age from babies to 90-year-olds. Jack played both guitar and keyboards, and the show was highly interactive – Jack kept the kids engaged and they had a great time moving and singing along with classic favorites as well as Jack’s original songs. Jack came early and stayed late to talk with the children. He may have kept playing all night if we’d let him! Thanks, Ranger Jack!

Ranger Jack did a terrific job at my daughter's third birthday party. After one of the most fun days of her life, I asked Riley what she thought was the best part of the party and she said "the music!" And we know three year olds are brutally honest!! Ranger Jack captivated a large group of toddlers and their parents, by the end everyone was up and dancing and the parents got a chance to sit back and watch their children be entertained. It really was a treat!

I was looking for someone to entertain children between the ages of 3 - 7, for my nephew's birthday celebration. Ranger Jack came to the rescue - the day was filled with sing-alongs, and entertaining stories for kids. Ranger Jack was well organized and punctual. The children were mesmerized with his stories. Overall experience was very positive and kept the children very focused. Thank you Ranger Jack!

"Ranger Jack's" performance as part of our library's Summer Reading special events was well-received by children and parents in attendance. Accompanying himself on keyboard and guitar, Ranger Jack was energetic, funny, and got everyone on their feet moving and singing along to his adaptations of popular and original tunes. He engaged the children and answered questions from parents interested in his piano education and CD, offering to stay later than the booked time. A little something for everyone in the crowd - exactly what we needed in a public library setting!

We could not have been more pleased with Ranger Jack at our recent event for children at South Coast Plaza's So Cal Spring Garden Show. Ranger Jack is an extremely professional, confident and enthusiastic performer who is sure to deliver a fantastic performance. He is full of energy and very friendly, an overall joy to work with.
The children were captivated with his music and were engaged from start to finish. So many happy little faces! His songs were cheerful, clever, and very interactive. It's hard to tell who is having more fun - Ranger jack or the audience he is performing for.
Would highly recommend to anyone, school, or organization. Big thanks again, Ranger Jack!

When I book a new (singing) performer, I look for good music and a good 'sound'. But perhaps more important, I'm looking for someone with the right personality to engage and hold the attention of a young audience--not an easy thing to do. Ranger Jack has all the qualities I look for, and more. His recent performance at Bella Terra Mall in Huntington Beach was very well received by over 200 guests and several parents took time to tell me they and their children loved his show. My client also expressed her pleasure over his performance. I'll be booking Ranger Jack again and I can highly recommend him to anyone who wants to offer a fun musical experience for kids!

Mr. Forest is a very friendly and professional performer who willingly asked the kids if they’d be interested in hearing a particular song and what grades they were in. He gave them rhythm instruments to tap along with the songs. His voice was loud and clear enough so the words could be heard easily.
Ranger Jack performed for our library's 2012 outdoor summer reading program concert for over 200 children. He had a great sound system which he and his crew set up themselves. The sound was loud and clear. Perfect for outdoors and large crowds.
The children enjoyed the songs. Many of them were songs that included audience participation. The Body Parts song was a great favorite and the kids had a wonderful time acting out parts of the song.
He also brought along a friend who made balloon animals for the children. They just loved that.
Ranger Jack was prompt, easy to work with and spent time talking to the children after his performance.
The children were very happy.
Omg I was not expecting to have such a good time with a children's musician, but WOW!! This guy is seriously amazing. If you want to liven up the party for ALL AGES, he is the guy to hire. Thanks Ranger Jack! :D
We recently had Jack Forest perform at our family reunion. We have a bunch of kids in the family and wanted something fun for them. Jack performed an unplugged set of his entire Animals are Happy CD. He included all the kids in his music, and by the end, all the parents were clapping along with the kids. It was the highlight of the Party. We will book him again in the future. Fun, Fun, Fun!!!!

Animal puppets, musical games, stories and more! The kids will be singing along, dancing and laughing out loud. I specialize in songs about animals. It's mostly a show for kids but all ages have fun as well. And there’s lots of puppetry. At parties I offer even more than this; so please give me a call for a full description.
A bit about me, my day job is teaching/performing music in preschools on a weekly basis; and I have taught private piano as well as music in the Fullerton School District to grades K-3. Kids are just so much fun! And in the last decade I’ve been honored to perform countless preschool summer shows, birthdays, city park events, libraries, shopping malls, and private functions.
Read reviews and check out lots of photos of kids smiling, laughing and dancing as I performed. Please go to (link hidden) to not only learn more but to listen to my free music for all ages.

About
In August of 2012, Jack performed before hundreds of children at the Huntington Beach Library's Concert in the Park in his first appearance as "Ranger Jack." He has since performed countless birthday parties in Southern California, as well as many libraries, shopping malls, K-6 school assemblies, museums, and countless performaces for preschools in Orange and LA County, for that is his day job during the week. He is also a piano teacher in Fullerton and Anaheim. And he has taught music to K-3rd grades in a dozen shools of the Fullerton School District.
"Ranger Jack" began his children's songwriting career in the spring of 2011 after more than 20 years as a music teacher, producer and performer. He had an epiphany after spotting an ad in "Backstage West" magazine soliciting children's music for a New York City music publishing company.
As a child, Ranger Jack was captivated by children's songs such as "Puff the Magic Dragon" as well as music from Disney movies, the film "Oliver!" and the Broadway musicals "Hair" and "Pippin". In addition, he says some of his fondest childhood memories are those of his mother singing him lullabies as he drifted off to sleep. As he got older, RJ grew to love the spirited and often humorous songs of bands like The Monkees, Peter, Paul and Mary and the Beatles - bands that would influence Forest's own musical style.
So it seemed par for the course that children's music came natural to Ranger Jack. He wrote and recorded three songs in answer to the magazine ad and subsequently wrote and recorded a 10-song CD, "Animals are Happy." In the summer of 2011, RJ was commissioned to write instrumental music for the children's DVD reading program "Skip & Daisy," which is sold and marketed to public, private and home schools across the globe.
In January of 2013, Ranger Jack got hired to perform in preschools weekly, and the rest is history. His calendar is filling up fast so contact Ranger Jack now for your next birthday or family event.
Additional Booking Notes
I usually put on a 30, 45, or 60 minute interactive show, but often I am hired to play serenade music as the guests arrive, like Puff the Magic dragon, what I call "listening songs". Then maybe after I help with the birthday song as we cut the cake, the interactive show begins. All I need is a 5 by 7 foot area to set up my equipment, which mostly includes just my keyboard and guitar. In most cases I will need shade for outdoor shows and I can bring my own portable power supply if an electrical outlet is not handy. So get ready to sing and dance and HAVE FUN!!!

Mr. Forest gave an impromptu performance for the children and me in the East Anaheim Branch Library on Monday, October 15, 2012, from 2:30-3:15 pm.
Mr. Forest is a very friendly and professional performer who willingly asked the kids if they’d be interested in hearing a particular song and what grades they were in. He gave them rhythm instruments to tap along with the songs. His voice was loud and clear enough so the words could be heard easily.
The children enjoyed the songs, some of which included audience participation. The kids had fun touching the right parts of their bodies when he sang his Body Parts Song.
The East Anaheim and Canyon Hills Branch Libraries will consider hiring him in the future. I consider his act to be polished enough that he could be hired at this time.
