The crafty vaudevillian with the puppets on strings, bewitching audiences and conjuring creativity. Trained at the famous Bob Baker Marionette Theater in Los Angeles, Rasputin (Matt Scott) has been creating puppets for over 18 years. Live puppet shows of his own invention have delighted audiences all over the US and internationally with a continuously growing repertoire.
His marionettes include stars of vaudeville, burlesque, tiki, freak show, and horror themes that perform variety acts as individual numbers or in full shows.
I booked Rasputin's Marionettes for an event i host twice a month in the dtla arts district. Absolute pleasure to have! The audience was eating it up! I will happily book them again! You wont be disappointed!!!

His slight-of-hand skills have been seen on television in the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and several commercial works. Live puppet shows of his own invention have delighted audiences since his premiere work of "Freak show Follies" in 2004, and the show repertoire has increased fervently since then.

His puppets have also been seen in many other venues, including the drag sensation Varla Jean Merman's world tours, and the critically acclaimed Troubadour Theater Company in LA.
His most recent work appeared in San Francisco, blending elements of marionette and shadow puppetry with film and projection to create a Halloween spectacle of delight and acclaim to an ever broadening audience.
New shows are always in the wings, with the hopes that everyone can see the age old and delightful art of puppetry brought to life on stage soon!
For my performances, I bring the soundtrack to my show on a flash drive or iPod, but can easily use any form of audio as long as there is a sound system I can plug into. I perform in front of my own backdrops that doubles as my puppet rack. Staging is best when I am above the audience so that more people can see the puppets.
