WORLD CLOWN ASSOCIATION MEMBER
I've been obsessed with clowns from a very young age. I wanted so badly to be a circus star, dazzling my audience with tricks, comedy, and effects. I took a balloon animal/magic course at a summer camp when I was about 7, but was ABSOLUTELY terrified of balloons at that time! I later attended a performing arts education school, and there I found my passion in choir and theater. I learned to extend my vocal range, and used that range in concerts and stage performances. In high school, I competed twice in the Solo and Ensemble competition in Washington State, received an Excellent rating in a group song, and placed 3rd with a Superior rating in my Region as a Tenor Soloist (Tenor is typically defined as a higher male voice range, and I was the only woman to place in the Tenor category). During my last few months of high school, I rediscovered my love of clowns and performing arts. After watching videos and attempting some balloon animals, I realized I had conquered my fears and was no longer so afraid. During the summer, I began clowning and balloon twisting at the Olympia Farmer's Market. With the support of this wonderful community and the rush of summer festivities, I have been able to grow into a seasoned entertainer who's ready for anything! I currently attend Miming/Clown classes taught by Luz at Sparrow Studios, as well as a weekly Juggling Jam Session with assistance from Anthony, Luz, and Audrey. By learning from local performers, fellow clowns, and traveling artists, I'm able to incorporate their techniques into my characters, and can now say I've been taught by the greatest of their craft.
