I specialize in Close-up Magic with everyday objects. I like to put the Magic in the audiences hands more than anything. It’s always stronger that way. I started Magic with cards & coins but I also enjoy doing it with finger rings, pens/sharpies, rubber bands, and other natural objects that I can find in my performance environment.
With my style of Magic I like to go around to individuals or smaller groups and show them 2 or 3 tricks out of my walk-around sets. I like to hop from group-group or table-table and show every one something different so not every group sees the exact same tricks over and over like a broken record. I already have a Close-up and Parlor act down with walk-around & sit down effects that I can interchange to fit the theme/environment I’m performing in. I am working on a stage show for a larger audience with illusions that pack small but play big and it will be ready before the end of 2024.
I can adhere to formal as well as casual dress code.
Born & raised in Oklahoma I first got into Magic in 6th or 7th grade when my parents got me the Cris Angel “MINDFREAK!” Magic Kit for Christmas one year. I’ve fallen in love with the art form ever since.
I’ve been performing Magic for 12 going on 13 years as l’ll be 24 in November. I’ve been performing professionally for the past year and it’s been fantastic! I’ve performed regularly at The Magic Showplace Theater & Rabbit-in-Hat Magic Shop up in Locust Grove, OK just E of Tulsa. I’ve also performed at a private house party Easter Sunday this year.
When I first got into Magic of course I used cards, coins, and other colorful & flashy props. As I get older I’ve transitioned to more natural and organic magic. I don’t like to carry too many things on me that take up space. I like to pack small but play big, use other peoples objects and/or what’s in my environment to make magical moments.
The only 6 things I *require* are:
*1. I must receive a 25% non-refundable deposit upon confirmation of booking. I am an artist just like a Musician, Comedian, etc… and need assurance that I will not be given the run around when it comes time for me to get paid at the end of the event. This will reserve your day and time on my calendar and close it for other potential clients that may want to book me. The only time I would ever cancel a booking less than 48hrs in advance is if an emergency situation came up.
*2. The performance is not a birthday party for kids ages 8 or younger simply because that is not who my Magic is predominantly for. I can and have catered it for that age range but too many times when I have performed for that age group they tend to interfere and hinder the performance. Or some can’t understand or appreciate the Magic fully and are distracted or uninterested.
*3. If the event I’m performing for is 4 hours or more then I must be fed either with food already there for the event or from the person who booked me. If this is not done at some point either before, during or after the event then I will be adding an additional $25 Starving Artist Charge onto the total bill.
*4. I am to be given all details available from the client for the event no later than 72 hours prior including venue address, time & date, theme/atmosphere of the event/venue, dress code, whether I’ll be performing inside or outside or a mix of both. Whether I’ll be performing stationary behind a “bar” or table setup in a parlor type setting, strolling, table/group hopping, or a bigger stage performance with sitting guests or come & go or a mix of styles for different times or time of day.
*5. Social Media: If I am allowed to film performances for social media I will bring my own tripod and/or possibly bring a videographer to accompany me to said event which will be paid by me the performer. If it is just myself and a tripod then I will make sure the tripod is out of the way of guests and does not interfere with the event. Social Media is another form of business card that allows me to help promote myself without a website. If any performance is filmed it will only be posted on my Magic Instagram, Facebook & Snapchat and I would tag the business I’m helping to promote as well as tagging the person who booked me if they want. I don’t do TikTok at all.
*6. I am not to perform while food or drinks are being consumed simply because when this happens people are not engaged or interested in the slightest about the Magic once a meal is in front of them and the Magic starts interfering with the event rather than enhancing it. I am able to perform between or after all courses have been served and finished or if there is one then at the bar or even behind it because I have my Oklahoma liquor license and am a Bartender!
