I play and sing a wide range of styles, including jazz, blues, classical, pop, ballads and originals, incorporating harmonies and vocal percussion into some pieces. I tailor my sets to suit the needs of each individual client.
The staff and customers loved having Renee at the store. A great mix of music, expertly performed.
Response from Renee Cross:
Thank you very much Richard! It was such a pleasure.
It was a pleasure to have Renee play at a surprise event for my boyfriend. She learned a new song I requested, a special song that means a lot to us. Renee is quite talented, as a singer and pianist. She even creates music while playing! Amazing lady, we would love to book her again in the future!
Response from Renee Cross:
Thank you for the kind words Brandy! It was a pleasure to play for you on your special night!
Renee recently played at a cocktail party we had for my parents' wedding anniversary and she truly made the evening a memorable one! Renee is a wonderful entertainer who knows how to create an elegant atmosphere with her song selection and attention to detail. She was very well prepared, arriving early and making sure everything was in order well ahead of schedule. Many guests throughout the evening commented on how beautiful the music was and how it really added to the classiness of the event. My parents were super happy and I was very impressed with Renee. I will definitely be booking her again!
Response from Renee Cross:

The music I usually play is a "loungy" blend of jazz, pop, ballads, originals and even some classical tunes. My sets help to create an elegant, relaxed atmosphere, perfect for cocktail parties, receptions, dinners and other similar events. I sing most of the songs, adding in some harmonies and percussion, while others are arranged for solo piano. I sometimes have a guitarist sit in with me as well.
I can bring all my own sound equipment, including an electric piano. I generally like to arrive 45 minutes to an hour before the performance time to set up, adjust sound levels and say hello to the event planner.
I am a freelance musician based in Guelph, Ontario, who loves exploring various instruments and styles of music. My first love is the piano and I am currently performing and recording as a soloist, playing piano, singing and incorporating vocal percussion into my songs. I am also a music instructor and part of the indie duo, Tiger Suit, who plays electronica/rock fusion.
I began my musical journey studying classical piano, but quickly became interested in vocal technique and arranging. In high school, my musical time was spent composing vocal arrangements, singing in various vocal ensembles and, of course, practicing classical piano pieces. At York University I broadened my musical interests by adding piano improvisation, South Indian singing and drumming, electronic music and composition in to my studies. I am incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to have studied with amazing musicians and teachers such as Casey Sokol, Trichy and Suba Sankaran and David Mott.
Presently, I am performing and working on a variety of musical projects while maintaining a busy teaching schedule.
