Meaningful ceremonies are always a real honor and joy. Each ceremony I write is unique and is designed to capture the essence and purpose of your relationship, to consecrate the vision of your lives together, and to anchor your love within a spiritual context. Regardless of your religious beliefs or church affiliation, I will work with you to design a personalized ceremony that expresses your personal spiritual path. I honor and respect all beliefs and traditions ~~ religious, spiritual or secular.

My ceremonies are best suited for couples who agree that while an exotic venue, fabulous food, gorgeous flowers, and great music support the festivities of the wedding day, the "wedding ceremony" is an everlasting investment in laying a strong foundation for a beautiful union of hearts and souls.

My services include pre-ceremony communications, a beautiful ceremony specially written for you, the rehearsal (if required), the ceremony, and the filing of the marriage license with the Clerk of the Circuit Court. My standard fee for conducting a ceremony is $225.00 without a rehearsal, or $300.00 with a rehearsal. A deposit of $100.00 is due in advance in order to reserve your date and write your personalized ceremony; and. the remaining balance is due at least 14 days prior to the rehears or ceremony.

Welcome! I'm Reverend John Bennett and I'm a non-denominational minister specializing in personalized wedding ceremonies, vow renewal ceremonies, commitment ceremonies, and bereavement services. I preside over all religious or non-religious ceremonies for all couples, straight, gay, lesbian, bi or transgender.

Regardless of your beliefs, I'll work with you to design a personalized ceremony that expresses your relationship and personal spiritual path. I am an advocate for same-sex marriage and holds theses ceremonies in the same fold as any other wedding ceremony ~ equally the same.

Marriage is a very transforming, magical, and enlightening life experience and your wedding ceremony is as special as the love you share. One great way to show your love for each other is through a customized wedding ceremony that reflects the beauty, commitment, and spiritual unity you both share. Your customized ceremony, uniquely written for you, will reflect your wishes, cultural elements, theme, music, favorite quotes, beliefs, personal life experiences, and personal vows of love.

Many couples are now seeking spiritual weddings outside the restrictions of a particular denomination and as an alternative to civil weddings devoid of spiritual content.

With the frequent intermingling of religions as couples unite in marriage, weddings have turned more and more to civil ceremonies. While civil ceremonies allow for the inclusion of religious elements, they do not require them, nor do they restrict them. With a civil ceremony, you can show respect for each other’s religious beliefs or lack of a religious standing. Moreover, as more and more couples go through a second wedding, large ceremonies are passed over in favor of smaller and more personalized ceremonies that bring even greater pleasure to the couple. More and more, these ceremonies are civil ceremonies that have been carefully composed and orchestrated down to the very last detail.

Renewal of Vows

Reverend Bennett would be honored to assist you with a renewal of vows ceremony or anniversary celebration. Honoring and marking the passage of time within a marriage reminds us of the reason and intention that brought two individuals together. Whether you write new vows that speak to this time in your life and relationship, or exchange the vows you took on your wedding day, a renewal of vows is a beautiful and very tangible way of saying “I do…still.” It speaks of the continuity of love, the fruition of hope, and the sharing of a common path traveled together.

Commitment Ceremonies

Commitment ceremonies are a meaningful way of publicly declaring and celebrating your love and desire to share your life with your partner. Indeed many couples, regardless of state laws, feel entering into the legalities of marriage is simply not relevant to who they are as individuals and as a couple. Yet a commitment ceremony holds the same intention as a marriage ceremony and offers an opportunity for friends and family to bear witness as they make your vows to each other.

Every Commitment ceremony is unique. Working within the ceremony framework, couples create their own unique celebration by selecting words, poems and readings that hold a special meaning for them. The venue, number of guests and involvement of other guests are also chosen by the couple, creating, in all, a very meaningful and personal experience.

When two people make a commitment together, they are promising that they will live in a loving, mutually honoring and cherishing union. They are acknowledging they belong with each other and this is an opportunity for great celebration.

OFFICIANT FEES AND DEPOSITS

Fees vary as each ceremony is unique and are quoted on an individual basis. Fees are structured to support the time dedicated to writing and designing your individualized ceremony, while also working within your budget. Factors include date, location, travel, and the time required to write and officiate your ceremony. To reserve a date and time for your ceremony, a non-refundable payment must be paid when the date for your ceremony is confirmed. A payment in the amount of 50% of the total fee must be remitted at the time of the reservation. The remaining balance is due at least 14 days prior to the date of ceremony. If the remaining balance is not received 14 days before the ceremony date, then the time and date of the reservation may be cancelled and may be booked by other parties unless prior arrangements have been made. Reservations made within 14 days remaining until the wedding, require a 100% non-refundable payment. Upon receipt of your first 50% payment, I will work with you to suggest ideas for each facet of your ceremony and tell you what has worked (and what hasn't) for other couples. He will write your ceremony and e-mail it to you (if desired) for revision and editing. Since this is your ceremony, you may make whatever changes, additions or deletions you want until it's just the way you want it. You accept responsibility for purchasing items needed to perform any of the rituals that you wish to include in your ceremony (i.e., unity candle sets, wine, bread, roses, unity sand sets, breakable glass, hand fasting cords, etc.).
